I got this for my ten year old grandson because he didn't have a "real" sword. He will love this one. However, it is sharp and has very pointy tip. I expected it to be dull and with a blunt tip. But, it's absolutely beautiful and the quality is top notch.

This is a very nice sword, good quality for a costume piece/wall hanger. But, when buying an item like this, pay close attention to the size. In the pics it looks like a long sword, but it's actually a child size miniature of one.

Honestly for $23 I was expecting a cheap plastic prop, but this really cuts the cake! For this amount it is worth the price.-The hilt and scabbard is 100% metal and wood; finely built might I add.-The sword is 100% blunt for prop purposes but that can easily be changed if you have a whetstone or any blade sharpening tools at home.-The blade did not come out bent and the detailing on the handle looks great!-Only issue I had is it is slightly difficult pulling the blade out, but I do like that as it is harder for kids if they were to take it and try. It gets easier to pull out after a few times. (Only reason I gave it 4 star)

It is of exquisite design and manufacture. I am very impressed indeed. I knew the length was short as per the item description. It is, possibly, the best Athame I have ever used! I use it in all my Wiccan ritual circle castings unless the ritual specifically calls for the wand. Which I made myself from a tree branches from Ireland, and amethyst, a silver moon & star ring, leather wrap and a hag stone of jade suspended from the bottom of the wand by a hemp cord. This is pretty awesome quality for something that says China on the blade! As a Magick tool, it is so nice and durable I can actually see this being handed down to your Pagan / Wiccan children. And the scabbard! It's wood and its metal trimmings and leather strap and buckle are very beautiful!Blessed Be my friends!I'm a Celtic / Nordic Pagan following the Wiccan tradition.Hail Thor! Hail Brigid!

Sword arrived early and well packaged. I read all the gripes about size, how small it is. Description clearly states 17" blade, so... This is a beautiful small sword. I only wish they made a full size, I would buy that also. I intend to use it as a costume sword and as an archer's sword for Ren Faire. My sword is well made and solid, no wiggle or loose or misaligned. The sheath is a plastic material but really looks nice. It securely holds the sword. If you bump the sheath sometimes you can hear the sword hitting inside of sheath. I do not find this a problem. The leather (synthetic) wrap on the sheath has a small buckle so you can attach it to your belt. The wrap is small so rough treatment could break it. I ordered a frog similar to the one I use on my functional Rapier and combat sword. "BladesUSA PK-6182 Universal Leather Sword Frog 8-Inch Overall" It has not arrived yet so I used the wrap in the photos attached.UPDATE: received frog and find that it is a bit large for this scabbard and will hide the lacing on it. I will trim back the leather that wraps scabbard and punch new holes so that the scabbard lacing will still be visible through the frog lacing. If you do not want to modify the frog then I would not order it. The frog is well made and looks great just too big as is for this sheath.I consider this a display/costume sword. Using it to chop or simulated combat...it is NOT designed for that. It will not hold up under that type of use.Measurements: Overall in sheath 23 3/16" Blade 17" Blade width 7/8" Grip with pommel 5 1/8" Grip 3 3/4" Guard 4 7/8"This is a small sword, NOT a dagger. Most full size swords of this type are 30-44" overall. In order for you to make up your own mind about if this small sword will work for you I took some photos. I am 6-1 195 lbs for reference when looking at photos.

First of all I have seen complaints about this item being small and not a two handed sword. If you know anything about sword then you know a broadsword is a sword with a wide blade and is used for cutting not thrusting. Furthermore this is not really something you but as a weapon. It is a collectible and it's great for older kids or to display. It is not meant to be used. It is a very nice sword and worth the price at that. It does not come sharpened because it isn't supposed to be used. It is however a quality product. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and I am pleased with it.

I am a huge medieval nerd, and when I saw this sword, I immediately jumped at the offer. 5 days later I was greatly let down. The only good thing about the "sword" is the slight detail it has to both the sheath and handle. The "sword" itself is tiny! It doesn't even come up to my knees. Honestly, you could be more intimidating with a kitchen knife than this. I refuse to classify this as a "sword," dagger is a more effective term. Unless you're really short, or have a collection of tiny medieval weapons and armors, than this sword is not for you.

I bought this sword as a ceremonial sword. I am very well pleased with it. The one I got appears just as in the picture even though it says that it comes with a 'black sheath'. I was actually hoping for a sheath like in the photograph and that's indeed what I got.The sword is very solid and fits into the scabbard very nicely. The blade is heavy and "appears" to be very sharp visually, however, you can run your hand along it with no fear of being cut whatsoever. It's quite dull except for the very tip which is quite pointed. The blade looks like it could be sharpened and potentially hold an edge. I have no desire to cut anything with this sword as I use it entirely as a ceremonial sword.I am very well please with this sword for the price. It's hefty with a good balance. In your hand it feels like you could easily take this into battle. It has the feel of a very genuine sword. I'm very pleased to use this as a ceremonial sword.
