These are nice mountain biking shoes. They are very sturdy with a solid sole, so a bit heavy duty. I usually wear a 10.5 but I ordered a size 11 because others said they run a bit small and they are not tight at all. I might have been ok with a 10.5 but I will use thicker socks when riding so these should be good. I haven't tried the clip ons, but I can see why others say we may need to add some spacers, as the soles have a thick tread.

I am a road cyclist but prefer the two bolt SPD cleats. I looked at a lot of shoes from a lot of websites. I bought a different shoe first, but returned it as I did not care for the locking mechanism. The old fashioned velcro was for me. I am very satisfied with the fit and comfort of these shoes. My only complaint is that they are a bit heavy. If I was riding a Mountain Bike, it would not be an issue. They seem to be wearing well after 20 rides or so.

I tried this company out as I'm local and I was looking for shoes. The fit was as expected for the size I ordered and the 3 strap design (one ratchet) is old school but works well so I'm not bothered by not having any of the 'new ideas' like the BOA system with one tightening mechanism. They seem to be stiff enough for my riding and I get good power to the pedals, I don't have any issues with sole obstructing my SPD entry and exit as some designs can. the top ratchet mechanism is east to tighten and loosen....on to the improvements needed.- these shoes seem very warm to me, the material that looks like mesh isn't mesh at all. it has padding behind it so there isn't going to be any airflow.- it is hard to get into them because of how the side, tounge and straps flop around and get pushed one way or another by my foot. 100% two handed process which is not what I've seen from many other shoes.- the tounge specificially is very padded (too padded) and its very soft (bad in this case) because it moves and crinkles down when I put my foot in. most other shoes I've had have a way thinner tounge material that makes it work better. the tounge is also not attached to the side or straps which is one reason it moves so much, it would be great to attach it to one side or a strap to keep it in place- the sides could benefit from being a bit stiffer so they stay open more when putting the foot in and then conforming when the straps are engaged- the mesh needs to be breatheable at least on toebox- we don't need full coverage cushion on the inside, I can't imagine what these will be like if they get wet. probably a sponge.

Great shoe at a very reasonable price. I've toured across the US and Canada and put on over 7,000 miles on these shoes, and a lot of walking/hiking. After this much time, they are showing some wear, but the Vibram sole is still holding up. Half star deduction for the flimsy, thin insert that had absolutely no support. Plan on swapping in a pair of insoles with some arch support if you need it. Made a world of difference for my foot comfort.

Very nice to be able walk without the cleats hitting the concrete. Well made too.

Orders size larger than you normally wear. I ordered size 10 and they were too small. Ordered size 11 and they fit perfect.

Second time I bought Tommaso bike cleat shoes, first was the street version. I ordered these 1/2 size larger for mt. biking and they are very comfortable, easy on and off, great for walking and some light hiking even! Great value as well.

I am new to cycling, so I do not know what the shoes are supposed to be like. I'm "gravel" biking, so trails and road. These look more like a normal shoe than most bike shoes I've seen, and they are easy to walk or ride in. I have not tried the cleats yet, so I can't comment on that. The micro ratchet strap is easy to use and really secure the shoe to your foot. They are heavier than I expected, but again, I don't know anything about how cycle shoes should be. I don't notice them at all or think about them at all when I'm cycling. I assume that is good.

I love these shoes. They work perfect with my Crank Bros Eggbeaters. I am so happy to have shoes that don't clack like tap shoes. I can ride to the store and walk around without changing shoes like I had to with my previous shoes. The shoes are still cycling shoes and dont feel like a good walking or hiking shoe. They're good for short walking, not extended hiking, I ordered a size 13- my normal shoe size and they are a bit tight in the toe. Not uncomfortable, just a bit smaller than my other shoes. If a size 14 were available, I would consider exchanging them. However, I am still very happy with the shoes as they are. Great shoe for the money.
