It seemed to me to be a lofty goal claiming a "larger working diameter (3/16”-1”, 5mm-25mm)." You see, the problem I have with this deburring tool is that I can't fix small/short bolts with it. The bolt, or threaded rod, has to be secure before attempting to deburr it. I try to fix the threads while the bolt as mounted or in a vise. The threads have to contact the blades, but if the bolt isn't long enough, the tool will bottom out around the bolt before contacting the threads. What works best for me? I thread a couple of nuts on the bolt to help my bench vise get a good grip. I cut the bolt to the length I need and then use this tool to clean up after the cut. Don't try that on a 1" long 1/4 inch bolt. The limitations of this tool become very apparent. Others seem to have success with holding a bolt with a socket wrench, but my hand strength is my own limitation I must contend with. (Don't get me started on impact drivers!) I guess we DIYers all have to find ways to work with, and around our limitations, and those of our tools. Now don't get me wrong. This tool does a decent job for me on longer bolts up to 1" diameter. I just think they're expecting too much from this tool, especially with smaller hardware.

This is a must-have tool if you cut bolts as frequently as I do. It was always a pain going out to the grinder and trying to get a decent looking chamfer on fresh cut threaded rod or bolt. This tool does the trick, with just a drill. And it does it much faster than I can with a grinder!

Works really well. No more grinding or filing by hand. Clears into the nut.

This deburring tool is a standout addition to any tool kit, proving to be an essential for anyone needing clean, precise finishes. Its heavy-duty construction not only promises durability but also delivers top-notch performance across a variety of applications.Firstly, this tool is incredibly effective for cleaning up metal pipe after cutting. Whether you're working with copper for plumbing or steel for structural projects, it smoothly removes burrs and leaves a clean edge that ensures proper fit and safe handling.Secondly, it's excellent for machining operations. If you're turning or milling metal parts, this deburring tool helps create a professional-grade finish that's free from any potentially dangerous sharp edges. This is crucial for maintaining quality and consistency in manufactured parts, making it a valuable asset in any machine shop.Thirdly, the tool is also perfect for repairing damaged threads on bolt heads or nuts. It allows you to clean up the threads without compromising the integrity of the fastener, which can save both time and money in manufacturing or automotive repair tasks.Additionally, it comes in handy for woodworking. When working with wood that has been cut, this tool can deburr edges, providing a smooth surface that’s ready for finishing or assembly without snagging or splintering. The robustness of this tool also means it can handle tougher materials that might wear out other deburring tools quickly. It’s built to last and handle the rigors of heavy, repeated use, making it an investment that pays off in the long run.In conclusion, this deburring tool earns a well-deserved five stars for its heavy-duty build and versatility in application. Needed to chamfer my bolts from my truck level kit. Made it through 7 of 8, on the 8th it shattered halfway through. Food of been a lot worse did nick a wire loom but thankfully no damage to cables

Totally worthless on a one inch bolt. Cutters are extremely soft. They also sit too close to the cone. So, after the first 30 seconds of use it just became an extremely expensive polishing tool. Absolutely useless for intended purpose.I recommend using a cheap hand file and get the job done rather than paying high dollar and waiting to receive this just to find out it’s a gimmick. Scam. Junk. Ripoff. Shameful….

I had to DIY a new threaded rod connection from my new telescope mount to a tripod meant for a different mount. Buying threaded rod that was longer than I needed was half the price of buying one that someone cut for me to the exact size I needed. However, the price of the too-long rod and a chamfer bit was more than the just-right rod alone. In the end, due to time constraints, I went with the just-right rod, but now fast forward and I ran into this chamfer bit at a decent price and decided to buy it to be prepared for the next time. I've also had bolts etc from time to time that I needed to shorten and could sometimes be a bit of a pain to clean up nicely so that nuts would thread on easily afterward. So, it's not a tool I'll be using often but it's the kind of thing I'll randomly and unexpectedly need from time to time.Quality wise it seems nicely machined and the carbide edges are pretty sharp. But I can't for the life of me think of why I might ever need to use the replacement shanks it comes with, especially since this is a low RPM tool. As the other reviewer said, they can't hurt. I just don't think I'd count them as any particular benefit/value over a chamfer bit that doesn't come with them. Absent of the product page demonstrating/explaining what their value is, I find this particular bit to be a little overpriced. Plenty of others are on sale for about $10 less also sporting the vent holes and carbide tips, albeit without the extra shanks.
