Fan was easy to replace. It was a perfect fit and I’ve had it installed for a little over two months. So far so good. My old fan was intermittently turning off so I figured it was the fan and not the controller.

Exact replacement part for 2009 Mercedes Benz CLS 550.Removal of old unit and replacement with this new unit took ~3 hours. There were a total of 10 screws to remove and replace and 2 Molex connectors. Only issue was getting me positioned under the dash, solved that by getting my wife under there (could have used a teenager as well). Once the 1st screw is started everything is easy-peasy and wife went back to her things. I probably could have substituted a 2x4 cut to length and positioned to hold the unit in place while I started a screw instead of the wife but what's the fun in that.My local MB dealer wanted $350 for this fan!!... and $750 more to install it!! So, at the cost of this fan, I can replace it 3 more times to break even!I actually believe, and so does the wife, that this replacement fan unit blows a higher volume of air with less noise than the original unit when it was new (not scientifically verified). We totally recommend this replacement fan and doing the job yourself,... unless you are supper rich, not the slightest mechanically inclined or have no time at all!

Tough giving something a 1 star review, but I'm truly not happy with the part or the performance. My 2006 W211 E500 had the dreaded issue of intermitted fan speed to no fan at all. Summertime in Northern California is miserable without AC/fan in the car. The part physically looks quite similar to the OEM part, despite the new unit fan blades being flimsier. Installation is miserable, only because Mercedes makes you contort yourself into an odd position under the passenger footwell upside down to install this part. The issue with the part itself is that, traveling over uneven terrain causes the unit to squeak, where as the OEM unit never did that. I verified the installation twice to ensure it was installed correctly but it will still intermittently squeak/chimp like it's off axis. In this case, if you are in the market, your money is better spent on the Behr/Hella unit, it's worth the extra money. Just my 2 cents, hope this helps.

The original blower motor stoped working at 136k mile mark. The rotor copper conductor and copper brushes wore down on 2006 Mercedes E320 CDI.It was easy to install the new blower motor. No issues, no noise. When the motor was out, I cleaned the evaporator with a foam spray through the air duct.

I installed this in my 07 e350. I'm original owner and i ran AC on Max almost all the time. Surprised the OE part lasted as long as it did. This replacement part is Extremely good price and value. It's even balanced with metal clips on one of the blades (same concept as a tire wheel balance weight). To me the two parts look near identical. My original fan blower motor and resistor regulator were going out. Would squeal and sometines wouldn't even turn on.I was going to try just cleaning and oiling the original fan motor but figured only 50 bucks, I'd just replace it. Bought the regulator from fpc.I also pre-oiled the spindle shaft with 3in1 oil the night before installing it.Pretty easy you remove and reinstall.Need a ratchet 20 torx to get in tight areas near firewall/footwell when unscrewing/screwing the fan cover (middle plastic shield). Others i could use simple screw driver type with adapter for 20 torx.Much much quieter. Don't know why since say it's noisy. I think it's much quieter. Maybe because i pre oiled mine, or maybe because my original had been so loud for so long.

Hope this helps someone else with intermittent AC problems on Mercedes. I have a 2008 Mercedes E350 and the AC would only turn on after several minutes after starting and driving the car. This is problematic in South Texas during the summer to say the least. I replaced the blower motor resistor which seemed to fix the problem but the problem returned a few weeks later. After diagnosing the compressor and AC control panel and finding no issues, I replaced the blower motor and now everything works great. It just made no sense that a blower motor would only work intermittently. Usually, when they go bad they stay bad.Now about this replacement part. I found no difference between this blower and the OEM blower. Same air volume throughout the speed spectrum and just as quite as the original. Happy now that my AC works every time and at 1/3 of the price of OEM.

Installed 8/12/18. Fits the D3 A8. Observed some pretty marked quality differences between this part and the Bosch part that came out. But for $100, it works, moves about the same amount of air. We'll see how long it lasts...
