This shirt has foam padding over some of the key area's often impacted in a number of different sports/events such as the sides, chest and back. While stiff and molded (So it's not likely to peel or flake off) it is foam rather then plastic sheets so keep in mind what type of protection is appropriate for your situation.It's easy to wear and clean, can fold/roll up tight for easy fit into a travel bag and is comfortable for long sessions of use. I do have to take a star off of my review because the sizing chart just wasn't accurate and was hard to figure out, I ended up getting a size 2 sizes larger then my son thinking at worst he'd grow into it but it's pretty much a good fit if a bit loose so glad that I did.

These run big. Have tried many shirts like this and I have learned to go down sizes. I got the small and said if it do not fit my son it will fit my daughter who is a large. Just my luck he wasn't home yet so I had her try it on and it fit her perfectly. It is tight in all the areas. The padding is pretty thick and will do the job as she plays hard defense out there and some times these kids get upset and like to play dirty. It will get the job done and the price is not too bad.

Our now 9 year old grandson spends more time on wheels, than on his feet. Hover board, inline skates, ice skates, skate board, scooter, combination of any of these, and a new mountain bike for Christmas.He and his Dad mountain bike down the ski slopes in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, during the summer. Sooooo, Grandma (who of course worries a bit), ordered him this padded safety vest, to go with the rest of his Personal Protective Equipment. He immediately put it on, declared it very comfortable, pounding the padding on the chest, declared it "strong", and wore it the rest of the day. While I hope it never truly gets tested, having it be comfortable and having a kid enjoy wearing it is half the battle.This is a very inexpensive piece of insurance.

I am beyond happy with this Youth fit Padded Shirt with Chest, Rib, Shoulder, Back Protector and Heart Guard/Sternum Protection. It is great for most contact sports for training or matches. It fits very true to size and provides such peace of mind for safety in training. Great value for money and I highly recommend overall. 10/10 from me.

Got this for my son that plays american football as some extra padding and it fits very well will good protection in the right areasEasy to wash, good tight fit so it doesn't ride up.
