Easy to install and it works like new. The only drawback was that it came from Europe or someplace far away and took awhile to arrive. New design that fits perfectly!

I bought this switch to replace a switch I basically had to smash when I experienced corroded batteries in my 6 D cell Maglite. Since the light was given to me by my daughter, who has passed away, I was committed to fixing the light. While I reached out to Maglite to buy the necessary parts, they never responded to my request. I found this switch on Amazon and after utilizing a pry bar and a very large drill bit to remove the corroded batteries, I was able to fully restore this priceless gift. You cant go wrong with this switch or vendor.

My grandfather recently passed and he had an old mag lite that needed refurbishing. This switch along with an led/lens kit worked great to breathe new life into his old mag and kept his light shining. The only little complaint I could have is that the hex head screw might be a slightly different size than the wrench they provide. While it does work perfectly for the old switch the One that comes in this kit needed more force to make it work. Like the screw was slightly smaller so to seat the head of the wrench on the head of the screw to turn it tight needed more downward force. Other than that this worked perfectly. Thanks a ton for this.

This switch assembly works for older Maglites that contain a different switch assembly. You must unscrew the mounting ring for the old switch assembly and remove the remaining parts from the assembly. Then you can mount the new assembly. I installed this replacement switch assembly in a 6 D cell Maglite that is 30+ years old and only contains numbers for the serial number. The switch works great. I also replaced the halogen bulb with an LED at the same time. My flashlight is like brand new thanks to Maglite making great replacement parts.

The screw that grounds the switch to the housing was cross threaded. Had to take it apart and use the one from the old switch . Other than that it works and fits fine . FYI save your old switch in case you might need it for parts.

I've got a 20+ year old 6, D-Cell maglite. battery exploded on the inside or leaked or whatever, fouled all the interior of the mag, destroyed the switch. This was a very expensive maglite when I bought it so long ago, I figured it was worth the money to try and salvage.Everything was great. I had a little challenge getting the old switch out as the interior of the tube is a little rough from the corrosive battery. I was able to gently slide the new switch it, lock down, batteries and bulb back in, and then the test.Worked. Ancient and still solid maglite, back in action.

After many years of service the switch assembly on my MagLite quit working. I didn't want to toss such a great piece of kit for such a minor problem and ordered a replacement switch. Replacement was simple and my MagLite is back in operation.
