This is an excellent product under a sweater- you obviously couldn't wear it with a regular suit- or even a three piece because it is much too short for that but you couldn't absolutely wear it a sweater vest or sweater. It has a loosening feature if you need it and it has a clip. I recommend figuring out how to work the clip with the tie off rather than on because it can be a little bit frustrating with it on.

So, if you are really needing a short black tie, like for a baby, this would be OK. A few things about it....The 8 inches in the description is the entire length of the whole thing... from the top of the knot to the bottom tip. I guess I was expecting that the measurement would be more like from the part that is hanging down. Anyway, it is very short. The part that goes around the neck is adjustable as described. The elastic had some fraying, which isn't ideal. The clip that holds the elastic around the neck is actually kind of tricky to un-do. It seems to me like something that you are wrapping around a baby's neck should be easier to release. The tie itself is a single piece, not like an actual tie... but I guess that maybe doesn't matter if it is being worn by a baby. I don't feel like I will have my baby wear this, however.

The title for this set lists for men, but the tie is sized for boys. The photos I uploaded shown next to an adult hand for size references. Perhaps these could okay for a very short adult, but for the average adult male, the tie would be a very unusual fit. The bow tie is on the smaller side too, but closer to being okay for adults. Other than that, these are totally useable and quality is good, especially considering the low cost for both. The pre-tied style makes this much easier for kids, or even pets for a costume.

This bow and tie set is great for my youngest son who likes to look dapper. Love the broad tie under a vest. Easy to get on and off and comfortable to wear. Looks as pictured.

The listing title says these have a zipper, the photos do not have a zipper so I wasn't sure, but these have NO ZIPPER. I wanted a zipper, so I am disappointed.

Make sure you understand this is a tiny tie . I got it for a Halloween costume so it’s perfect for Otho in Beetlejuice. If you are buying for a human they better be small. Was easy to attach and adjust.

This set gave him the opportunity to try both and see which one he liked best. In the end, he went with the bowtie.We have the red set and the red is a very elegant red wine shade and not as red as the picture shows. The bowtie material is also a silky material that adds to the elegance for the special occasion.Both the tie and the bowtie are easy to put on. Since we have the extra tie now, the family dog can also dress up for the special day.
