I never wanted a bidet but my wife's Alzheimer's and increasing hostility with caretakers (me) put me between a rock and a hard place so I bit the bullet and went for this top of the line S7. Been using it for a week or two now and I got to say it has been pretty life changing. Not necessarily for me personally, although it is growing on me with each use, but because its allowed to me insure a basic level of hygeine for my wife while avoiding her hostility that came with me having to do it myself. I know nothing works forever with this disease, but the bidet has certainly been a big help. As far as the S7 goes....I can't imagine how they'd make it any better other than simplifying the remote control. Remote's pretty complicated, but that's because it's a complicated and top of the line model. It does it all and I'm rapidly joining the cult of bidet followers. As far as install goes, please listen to me...I don't recommend trying to decipher the catalog thick instruction manual...it'll just intimidate and confuse you. I'm a handy/mechanical guy and I read it 3 times before scratching my head. Fortunately, I just googled the model number on you tube and found an 11 minute video that showed how easy it actually was. Seriously, no harder than replacing any toilet seat plus a t valve to screw into the water line...plug it in and you're all done. Flawless. P.S. I saw a lot of reviews about buying an additional plumbing part for an adapter to lower the connections or something...I bought it since it was only 6 bucks just in case but my toilet absolutely didn't need any extra parts. This install was SMOOTH and FAST. Great job by Toto on this model.

Unlike all in one smart toilets this add on does not splash water all over. Easy to install and works as advertised. Remote is also easy to understand. I like the larger buttons for common usages

We have had a bidet seat for years. We love them. When our older, much cheaper, seat finally needed replacing I decided to go for "the best". However, this was a disappointment.Comfort: The seat was comfortable for my 5' wife. Buy my 6' tall self, with much wider backside, was uncomfortable on the seat. It has a ridge that hits me just wrong. I rate this as a minor issue because it was comfortable for my wife, who uses it way more than me.Temp/Pressure: Really good options, and the controller was not as difficult to use as I feared from looking at the picture. It cleaned well and my wife said it was comfortable for all her needs.Deodorizer: This one actually seemed to work. It ran a lot more than others, but it really made a difference.Nightlight: this was really disappointing for me. The seat has two night lights. One on the side and one in the bowl. The one on the side comes on when raising the lid. I assumed the one in the bowl would come on when raising the seat to use it standing up. Nope. The bowl light seems to come on at completely random times and always goes off when raising the seat.Other: the seat goes through some kind of cleaning cycle at random times. Sadly, these are often in the middle of the night and it is pretty noisy. It will also just random spray a water mist into the bowl, presumably to clean that, at random times. This has the result of the toilet being very noisy, and the seat is frequently wet when opening the lid.Overall: I really want to love this seat. It nails many of the most important aspects of a seat. I expect a better night light experience, and we returned the seat because of the noisy and messy "cleaning" cycles that happen at random and inconvenient times.

First, I want to say upfront that this is a good product -- well-made (I've only had it for a few weeks, so we'll see how it lasts), works well, incredibly easy to install (and I'm pretty incompetent with tools). I'm glad I bought it. Below I'll detail reservations, but I wanted to make that clear at the outset. So, 4 stars? I deducted 1 star for 3 reasons:•The two-sided remote is absurdly complicated, unintuitive, and the many buttons all have minuscule and unintelligible icons (about the size of an Altoid or smaller) with no text.•The manuals are nearly useless. It is a mystery to me why foreign companies with large sales in the US can't spend a few hundred bucks one time for an American freelance writer/editor.•They don't have instructional videos, or at least not for this model that I could find, though the fact that they refer to the models by their lengthy strings of numbers and letters (SW4726AT40#01 - seriously?) rather than by their simple model names (Washlet S7) makes it hard to find anything on their website. After trying to read the manual, which made the installation seem needlessly complicated, I found a video on YouTube (NOT made by Toto) that explained it simply and clearly, and only then did I realize that even I could do this with no problem. It ended up taking about 10 minutes to install.I also learned a few things about bidets in general in this process which I thought I'd pass along to other first-time buyers.•The dryer is nice enough I suppose, but if you've ever tried to dry your hair with a blow-dryer on the lowest setting you will realize that there's no way this thing is going to completely dry you in less than 20 min. or so. You will still need to follow up with paper.•One of the arguments made for bidets is this one - "If you accidentally got some excrement in your hair, you wouldn't use a tissue to clean it up." True enough. But you also wouldn't just use a water spritzer bottle - you'd wash your hair. A bidet will get you pretty clean, but when you are using some paper to dry yourself you'll discover that you'll still need to finish up with some more paper. So the idea that a bidet will eliminate the need for toilet paper is naive. It will certainly reduce the need, but not eliminate it.Now that I know all that, I'm still glad I bought it. But let's not exaggerate its capabilities.
