The pick is sturdy, exactly why I was interested in this one. The finish on the point is starting to come off after only a couple uses, but that doesn't bother me at all. The metal underneath is shiny.It fits well in my hand, and I can get a good leverage with it properly. The whole pick end to end is about 6 inches long. The pattern shown on the picture is only on one side, but it matches my horse :)I expect to be using this pick for many years, I forsee no problems with it at all. Good buy, and great price!

This hoof pick is very pretty but I am not a huge fan. Sure it's flashier than the plastic ones with a brush but it doesn't have that useful brush to help you see. I had only had mine for a couple months and started to tarnish and look yucky. Now I understand that things are going to get dirty with horses and all but this pick just doesn't stay looking nice for long. I feel like it defeats the purpose of buying a fancy one with a design on it. I think I'll stick to my not so fancy plastic pick with a brush.
