All of the 6 mounting holes lined up perfectly, I purchased some grade 8, 8mm x 1.25 bolts from Ace Hardware about 1" long and the fit perfectly. This is my first Super Beetle tow bar, and I expect to have it forever.

Love it! Some little adjustments on two of the 6 holes, they didn’t match exactly, so I needed to use a drill for that. Easy to set up, tow bar is not huge, easy to store as well. I towed my Super Beetle for 700 miles without any problems, strong material, pins didn’t make it so I had to buy a couple at Home depot for 7 dollars, but the vendor will send them over to me. Vendor very responsive.

Put it on a 1979 SB convertible easy install holes were perfect ,looks super strong ! Although I haven’t towed with it yet

The bracket fit up perfectly, but the original bolts on the vehicle are about a 1/4" (6mm) short. You will need 6 new 8 mm bolts. These bolts require a 13mm wrench to remove and replace. The tow bar works great!
