Had to jump in with a review on my experience with this sensor. I had a bad feeling from reading all the negative reviews and it not working or that it was not the correct part.Wondering if its the 4cyl that the part is not fitting correctly? As it was a direct fit for my stock TPS and a relatively easy to install. The only challenge with the exchange was the "phillips" (really JIS screws) and that this package did not include a replacement for the screws. I got the stripped on back in and its fine for now. Again I tell myself I have to get myself a JIS driver set as I own 4 Toyota's.(JIS is the Japanese version of a phillips head with a slight difference in design. If you have one tough to remove you will almost always strip out the screw removing it). After installing had my fingers crossed again from the reviews and there is was first start the engine huffed and puffed. The tack went up/down and some nasty smoke came out the tail pipe. I went into fear mode as I had nothing to use and it was past midnight. Turned off the truck, removed the P0120 code and started it again. This time less huffing and puffing but still did not sound great. Took it out for a late night road test of 3 miles. I immediately threw a code and I was saying to myself I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. This morning I had to drive 30 miles to my first appointment. Was worried would it even start. Thankfully it did start, sounded ok, got it on the road still afraid as it threw a code as soon as I was on the road. But it performed better than before the swap. Got gas halfway on the trip still concerned if I should even turn it off but I did. Reset the code again at the station and headed back out, only to throw a code yet again. BUT it drove fine and the throttle was MUCH more responsive than what I was feeling from the old TPS, it just had the darn check engine light glaring at me the entire trip.Once I was finished with the meeting started the truck again no problem BUT this time the code that was there when I arrived was no longer lit and the truck felt better than it has for a while. No lag and feels like there is power throughout the 0-60/70 range of acceleration driving on the interstate.Hopefully this helps others - again all I can speak to is the 3.4L V6 model but very pleased with the final results after loosing a few hairs in fear that I bought a piece of junk.I do highly recommend for the Gen3 Limited 4Runners

This is garbage. Code reader said tps error code. 99 Toyota 4runner would die on acceleration from full stop every now and then. Put this in. And not only did it requre some modification to fit the plug(cut some extra platic that kept the plug from full insertion) but after install, after every single full stop, upon acceleration the car would stall out. EVER SINGLE STOP. Terrible. Went to local auto parts shop payed 60$ for what they had and immedeatly solved the problem. Dont waist money on this. Wtf
