The valve body with new solenoids solved the intermittent second to third gear slipping/not engaging, so i was thrille to be able to sell the 99 Ford Ranger pickup with confidence. The only thing i did not like was that the one page instruction sheet looks like it has been copied too many times and was getting blurry. If I had not been a 27 year retired pro technician i would have had more difficulty figuring out what went where.

I installed this in a 1999 Ford Ranger to replace the original that would no longer function correctly. The techs and management at Shift Rite are top rate. I installed the unit and had a small problem with shifting. One short email to them and they immediately went work and provided a solution. I did the reinstallation and the problems I’d been dealing with were gone. Smooth as glass from a stop, soft shift into second, then third and fourth. Overdrive was restored and operated flawlessly. These folks are the real deal. If you have problem valve body don’t hesitate, they’ve got you covered. An only an email or phone call away. They even have whole fresh transmissions.

Long story short - My truck threw a bunch of O2 sensor and tranny codes including flashing overdrive light and went into 'limp mode'. Got online, everything pointed to the shift solenoids. Ordered the valve body w/shift kit and spent Saturday morning installing it. Trucks back up and running and shifting like new! This is not a hard job if you just take your time.
