It was very good quality, fit right up to my 1995 mercruiser alpha one gen 2. It was a much better value than oem and very easy to install as oem specs. I'd say it makes sense to go this route as the functionality is much better and more convenient on Amazon.

Outdrives in inboard outboard drive boats need to be waterproof to prevent corrosion and drive failure. This kit has the gaskets and needed parts to service your outdrive including a gimble bearing. Special tools are needed for installation and the space is very tight. Installation is very tedious. You may perfer professional installation unless you are an accomplished DIY'ER. This product works great when properly installed. All products are included for a waterproof seal. Water in this area will destroy you stern drive connection including U joints, cables and in general results in a rusty mess. If you do it yourself, take your time to do it properly. A great value and highly recommended.

The bellows are made of high quality rubber, very supple, thick. The clamps are also nice along with the gimbal bearing and o-rings. The gasket was deformed due to shipping practices. If the manufacturer would only put the gasket in a thin plastic bag and then tape on to a piece of cardstock there wouldn't be any issues. However they put the gasket in a bubble wrap bag and just pushed it into the box. Mine was folded up and deformed to the point that I wouldn't trust it. The silicone seal that is applied to the gasket was also off center around one of the circular penetrations in the gasket. This may not cause an issue but it should be perfectly centered as is shown in the listings pictures. Overall, everything is great except for the gasket but that is an important part.

The main gasket is worthless. Purchased 2 kits and both main gaskets are unusable. On top of that, the gasket was folded due to the box size being too small and all other contents thrown on top of it. Very disappointed.
