This is a pretty nifty device. After struggling with critters and the wind making a mess of our trash, we decided to see if it worked. And it does! It's' easy for us to open the can, but thus far the wind and the animals have not been able to. I haven't actually witnessed the garbage truck emptying the can, but that appears to work just fine too. (As expected with our tests during assembly.)Assembly was easier than expected. You will need a drill, though. The parts are well made, even having rubber backing on the gaskets. It looks like it will hold up well.

It wouldn't fit my can. The hook portion that 'grabs' the can isn't wide enough.I like what they tried to do though.Their claw bite is 1.5cm. If it fits it's good I believe.

This HOSKU lid latch is a great idea for anyone with a flip top trash can. The wind will usually makes our trashcan lids flutter all night, which can be so annoying.The design is very simple. When the trashcan is upright, the weighted latch hook hangs straight down and catches on the lip of the trashcan, preventing it from opening. With the trashcan tilted, the latch swings forward, allowing the lid to open.A little adjustment is necessary to fine tune the correct lid length. All of the hardware was included for installation, and the assembly was easy. You will need a drill, screwdriver and wrench to install this latch. I like the selection of rubber backed washers, to prevent rain from seeping in throught the mounting holes.

This went on really easy. Just drill a couple of holes and put it on. I like that it just clips to the lid, I don't have to release a clasp or undo anything: Just pull up on the little hooky thing and it comes off. Easy to use even one handed holding a trashbag in the other hand.

This works well as long as your carrier doesn't mind that you forget to remove it before they swing by. I lost mine on the first pick up day. LOL. My fault I guess. It kept all the animals out while I had it.Take care.
