Gluvit barrier coat seals and protects hulls and decks. Provides superior protection for fiberglass, wood, aluminum, and steel. Seals leaky seams and rivets in aluminum hulls, and leaks around fiberglass cabins or decks. Hard protective coating flexes with hull movements to bridge and seal hairline cracks. Gluvit fills minor cracks and pinholes. Its long working time allows penetration into cracks to seal and strengthen. Acts as a barrier coat to minimize water absorption and galvanic corrosion. Deteriorated wood can be renewed with a few strokes to penetrate and strengthen stringers, decking and molding.

Let it sit for a bit if you want it to be "spreadable", but if you want to seal rivits... it will do it. Great stuff. A little goes a long way.

This stuff is the only thing I Will use on a aluminium boat, takes a long time To harden, but worth the wait.

I applied this product to my 14 foot jon boat after I had re-riveted the entire boat. I removed all the old paint down to the metal. I then applied the product. It went on smooth and the curing time allowed me time to get a smooth coat. I allowed it to cure for 48 hours. I then did a light sanding with 120 sand paper. The marine paint adhered very good. I have had the boat out several times and the interior of the boat is absolutely dry. Looking forward to many years of fishing with a leak proof boar.

This product is amazing, after being frustrated and trying many products I finally found a product to stop water from coming into mu boat. I've got a 80s lund that was my wife's grandpa's and we love the boat but the fact that water would come in made fishing a little uneasy. After installing 2 coats of this product we went out for 5hours of fishing and I'm soon excited that after all that we pulled the plug and absolutely no water!!!!! Once again this product is amazing! We'll worth the time and effort and money!!

The product was great. Sealed all the rivets and underside of 14ft flat bottom Jon Boat with whole 2lbs can. 1 coat making it in 3 batches of 5oz resin, 1 oz hardener. Ratio 5:1.Product was properly packaged and sealed and did not leak while being shipped. The only complaint I have is after receiving tracking information the package was not given to carrier promptly waited till after the time it was suppose to have arrived. Total of two weeks before contacting seller. That night i saw that the carrier finally received the package and it was finally on its way and the next day the seller did contact me.I do work in a shipping department so I can understand how things go.

Cleaned up the rivet rows using a wire brush wheel on a corded drill. Started with a cordless drill but it overheated and cut out. After a good cleaning, wiped down the rivet rows with acetone. Split product into two batches. Mixed and applied one batch at a time on two consecutive days. Product leveled well and filled in around the rivet heads. Allowed around 18 hours between first and second coat. Expecting great results. If you don't hear back from me, the project was a great success.UPDATE… (See last picture) My boat has been in the water for three days. Not a bit of water has leaked in. Before I sealed it, I’d easily have a gallon of water to bail in three days. Good stuff and exceeded expectations!UPDATE… Two continuous months in the water and still no leaks. Highly recommended!UPDATE… It’s now August, 2024, and the boat is still dry. It went into the water in May and hasn’t been out. Still dry after a year.

I purchased a 14' jon boat and the seller said it leaked only about an 1" or 2" and hour but it leaked. I purchased Gluvit after reading the reviews and watching some YouTube videos. I followed all the direction from boat prep to application. It took a little longer to dry than I thought it would take being it was about 95 degrees outside. I did apply it under a cover so it was not hit by direct sunlight. I let it dry for a couple of days while I waited for the bottom paint I ordered to arrive. Took the boat out for about 5 hours last week and had zero leaks. I used a very cheap paint brush to apply and only mixed what I thought I would use in about 10 to 15 minutes just to be safe. It is thick so the cheap paint brush worked great and after painting, you could not see where I applied the Gluvit. I have no problem recommending the product for stopping water leaks in a boat.

Found a used and abused v-hull aluminum boat with many loose and a few missing rivets in the bow, which leaked about 3 gallons an hour. After some wire brush cleanup to remove the previous owners body putty, and a few screws to fill the missing rivets, I applied a coat of gluvit. It went on easily ( I used a roller) and appeared to be setting up fine. But in not wanting to waste it, I applied the rest of the can too soon, and found some runs the next day. It would have been fine if I had just thrown away the excess. Allowing a couple of days for it to set up, it dried to a slick shiny finish. A lake test proved gluvit had done the job and there were no more leaks. Only one problem remained- even though it looks white in the can, gluvit is slightly brown tinted transparent when it dries, so it was quite noticeable on my white boat. However, a second light coat with an ounce or so of white pigment (amazon - White Pigment for Epoxy Resin, Gelcoat, Paint, Latex - 4 oz) mixed in looks Perfect. That was last year, and now, after more than 200 hours on the lake, it still looks great and I only run the bilge pump after a rain. I highly recommend gluvit for both it's effectiveness and ease of application.

Used this for a 14ft aluminum boat with a couple of cracks and multiple leaking rivets.Worked great last summer. We shall see how it did over the winter.January 2022: So far this stuff has been holding up well. Summer of 2021 I still have no leaks. This stuff really helped me. My boats about 25 years old and now no leaks. I was worries about how long this stuff would work for and have been very happy so far.
