I bought this hoping for the best. Everything seemed fine when I opened and used the item. I bought titanium-alloy tooth picks before and they work great. I've used them to poke holes in the top of a can with no damage to the pick. Not these. I tried to put a hole in a can with one of the picks and the tip bent without puncturing the can. I tried another. Same bent tip. I grabbed a third with the exact same result. I tossed the rest of the picks and the holder aside. What a waste of money. Don't buy these.

We only use toothpicks for checking if baked goods are done, so these were a no-brainer. I wouldn't want to pick my teeth with these (you know, ACTUALLY use them as toothpicks), because they are hard, sharp metal. So I'd be careful and would not scrape them against the enamel of my teeth. But for checking baked goods, there is no reason to throw away a toothpick every time. These are perfect for that. They are long enough and thin enough and work well. The case is a screw top, which holds them nicely. However, they are small, so they're easy to lose. They're really sharp, so you don't want to lose them, and the container screws so tightly that you want to make sure they're absolutely 100% dry before you close them up so that water doesn't stay in there and create mold or any other issues. If you can do those things, these are great. I'm always happy to replace disposable things with reusable things.

This portable toothpick carrier with toothpicks is nice. Being older (60+) my teeth are not the best. I always need a toothpick after I eat but never think to take any with me when I'm away from home. These are nice in that they are reusable and easy to drop the container into my purse when I am getting ready to leave home. The container is solid, and I do not think it will dent too easily. The screw on cap is okay, but the threads are not the easiest to get lined up, so they do not cross-thread. The toothpicks have a very sharp point on them, so use caution! I like that they have the textured upper part on the shaft to help with holding onto them. There are actually 13 toothpicks and one container. The product page lists it as 10 toothpicks, except for in one of the photos where it gives the dimensions, there it says there are 13 of them.I will recommend these portable / travel toothpicks. They are solid and should last a long, long time. A word of caution though ... I do not think it would be good to take them along if you are planning on flying anywhere. I doubt they would be allowed. Also, do not leave them where children can get a hold of them. I would say they would be very dangerous for children under 8 years old if they were to play with them.
