This is type of marble that is formed around limestone. There are natural holes like bubbles all throughout, which add to the natural beauty. Heavy, solid, decent size. I like the fact this is one solid piece and not two or three chunks fitted and glued together. The piece of rock had to be quite big to carve a one piece bowl out of it. That kinda amazes me. It's a work of art and a great gift to give someone. I think it would be nice with potpourri, dried flowers, sugar or tea packets, even dried oranges with whole cloves in the skin. Just not wet stuff like soup or cereal or soft soggy rotting peaches or something because the bacteria will build up in all the little holes.I got the beige color because to me the white looked too "mortar and pestel" apothecary vibe, but that might be good for the bathroom and Qtips or something.Packed well so it did not chip, crack, or break.

This travertine bowl would make a great gift. It can be used in so many different ways. It’s a substantial weight for its size, and has small rubber feet on the bottom that keep it stable. It measures 8” in diameter with the bowl surface being 7”. It’s a light beige, without much color variation (unlike some travertine) that goes with everything. Great as a decorative piece, or to serve, organize or display small items. It appears to be good quality and a good value for the price.

Carved and shaped smooth leaving the natural pits of travertine exposed. On the one I received the pits are small and consistent in size. The stone color and pattern variation is subtle and appealing. The small rubber pads on the bottom work well though not aligned. Overall charming and well crafted natural stone.

Very nice craftsmanship! Such an exquisite dish! I did research on Travertine before I bought this! Very interesting how it’s sourced! Such a great conversation piece!Very heavy duty! I washed it with warm soap & water before I used it. It washes well!Nice rubber stable feet on the bottom! ☺️Excellent quality!

I've had my eye on a travertine bowl for a while now and am so happy I finally ordered this one. It's beautiful and such a perfect accent to anything you place it on. 10/10
