These are for use in the water but they are not waterproof or even water resistant. Using on the boat was ok, they didn’t get wet. When used the kayak the instant they got wet they died. One day past the option to return.

I bought these to use on my kayak for night paddling (red, green and white). I was a little skeptical of their quality due to the low price but I have been very happy with them. Since I need to rely on them for my personal safety on the water I did a fairly comprehensive reliability test when I first got them.To test them, I charged them all up, turned them all on and laid them out by color. I put them in order as they went out one by one so I could see which ones lasted the longest. I repeated this test twice and they were all pretty consistent in which ones lasted the longest (and shortest) so I added two of each color to a boating dry bag and put the others away as backups. Most of them last at least 2 and a half hours at full brightness and then start dimming as they die out. So I can easily get 3 hours before they're all out which is quite long enough for a regular night trip (even with an extra set as spare). There was only one (red) that didn't last long, only about an hour.If you're needing them for the same or a similar purpose then they'll work just great, but I would suggest doing the same tests as I did to find the most reliable ones.

All I did was secure these on the sides of my boat and I turn them off for when it’s dark. It’s so much easier than dealing with wiring lights and worrying about water hitting the wires. If the lights ever go out I just can slide them off and recharge them!

The good: They mount easily. They charge easily. They are water proof (if you put the rubber dong back in to the charging hole!). They shine pretty well at night (would not use in place of a head lamp or other lighting system). The multiple light modes work as expected. Just button press after button press to cycle through options until final option (off). They come with charging cables. They are individually packaged so you can give them to kayaking friends as party favors, etc.The bad: They don't all last the same amount of time. You can find your port light on and your stern light on and your starboard light out within a three hour outing. As a kayaker, I'm not happy about that. I'm not looking behind me to see if these lights are still going or not. I can't replace them on the water without going to shore and maybe I'm in a situation where I cannot go to shore. Maybe doubling them up is the way. Not sure. But if I was completely reliant on them I'd be disappointed. That is worth keeping in mind. The ugly: Not ugly at all. They're quite nice really.

The lights came packaged in one box and individually wrapped. Each light had an individual charger cord, but you need to provide your own UsB wall plugs. You should have at least 4 slots available to charge the lights. The lights did work upon arrival, but needed to be fully charged. I charged each light prior to use. There were no instructions to know how long to charge them at first use, but it was self explanatory if you have something with a USB that you charge with a cord. The lights were made of good quality. There is a rubber plug that needs to be opened and closed at time of charging and at time of use. The lights have several lighting options. Solid light, blinking light and multi flash lights. The lights were purchased to night fish in a kayak. Two nights will connect to the bow and stern where the pull handle holes are, but they do not attach around the sides of the boat without drilling holes and attaching screws. I bought a 1/4” bungee cord and clips from a separate company, to connect the lights to go around the seated area of the kayak for better lighting visibility. I just used two clips on the bungee around the rim of the seated area then attached the lights with their rubber straps. This worked great because the bungee cord easily attached and detached for removal The lights are bright. I also bought a head lamp for visibility from another company. For visibility for fishing.Overall, I’m happy with the lights. The bungee cord was probably not necessary, but my choice.I recommend these lights. I have not tested the longevity of the charged lights, but I bought two sets to exchange out as needed.
