I’ve used several different camping pillows in my life, but I really like that the Trekology pillow is larger than many others, and that extra size could mean that your head doesn’t end up on the bottom of the tent floor when you roll over. For at-home comparison, at 24”x15” it’s wider than both “standard” and queen size pillows, yet not as tall as either (reference putting a pillow against the headboard at home for height and width). The deflated pillow comes in a small stuff sack, and unrolls (or rolls up for storage) for inflation. It also includes a nice, though thin, cover to keep that plastic feel away from your face. I know it’s all personal, but I’d say whether you’re back packing 5-10 miles to your destination, or car camping (a luxury), the pillow will be a welcome addition. In any case, I’d still like a thicker pillow cover and I’ll definitely be adding one. If you’re hiking the Appalachian trail and you’re counting ounces you may opt out of all covers, but that’s up to you.As with all inflatable pillows, there are some pros and cons. Manually inflation means you provide the power to fill it up whenever necessary, so no pump is required, but what’s more challenging – for me - is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to find that real happy medium regarding softness. In my testing – and it should get real use soon, it’s either too soft and your head compresses it too much, or it becomes quite stiff and less forgiving. Regardless, in my experience it’s always going to be better than sleeping on a pile of clothes. I think it’s a good buy no matter how you use it.

I have been looking for a spare pillow to keep in my SUV in case I get stranded somewhere, or even to use in case my back starts hurting, which can happen to my increasingly aging self in this day and age. This Trekology pillow is about as good as it gets from an inflatable pillow from what I've seen. I didn't recognize it for a second because it arrived deflated in the small Trekology tote bag - and it was small! It took me about six good breaths to get this thing inflated to where it should be, so it was quite easy to inflate. Usually inflatable pillows in my subjective experience lack any comfort, I didn't think that about this one. Are there conventional pillows that are more comfortable? Absolutely. It certainly was firm like you'd expect on an inflatable pillow, but the blue cloth on the face of the pillow felt soft and slightly fuzzy, and makes the pillow feel more comfortable. The cover can be removed for cleaning quite easily which is good. I looked inside and it is made of the typical material I'd expect an inflatable pillow to be made of - which is pretty impressive then that I actually felt fairly comfortable relaxing on it. Deflating it and putting it back into its little tote storage back was also easy. Conclusion: This pillow pretty much met or even exceeded my expectations. It can be stored very compactly, it's notably larger than most other camping inflatable pillows I've seen, it's firm yet comfortable thanks to the soft blue cloth material on the front, it can easily be cleaned by removing the cover, and it is easy to deflate and put back in storage. In short, it's everything I wanted from a pillow of this type, and I would highly recommend it!

This Trekology Camping Pillow is very large and comfortable.Design: The pillow has an inner inflatable chamber made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a valve, and a removable cloth cover with an adjustable strap. The top is blue, while the bottom and edges are gray. It comes with a small blue cinch-top bag. The included directions are sparse, providing only basic inflation and deflation steps in multiple languages and a QR code to reach the Trekology website.Size: Inflated, the pillow is 24" wide x 15" tall x 5.5" thick. When deflated and packed in the cylindrical bag, it is 8" tall x 5" in diameter.Usage: Inflating the pillow takes about 8 to 12 breaths. The valve seals well and is easy to use. Opening the upper part of the valve allows for inflation, while opening the lower part enables quick deflation. The adjustable back strap helps secure the pillow to different cot sizes, preventing it from shifting. My wife used this pillow on a recent camping trip, and she found it very comfortable and relatively quiet when changing positions. Its large size makes it ideal for bigger adults or those who toss and turn during the night.Aside from the sparse instructions, we encountered a minor issue with deflation. On the first attempt, the air wasn't sufficiently removed to fit it back into the bag. However, after using a different technique, it now packs away easily.Overall, we really like this pillow's large size and comfort, and we'll definitely bring it for future camping trips.
