These seem to be well made, but I haven't worn them yet because the straps aren't comfortable. I think if you are going to sell knee pads in a XL, the straps should be longer. I'm keeping them but I'm going to sew an extension strap on so they will fit comfortably.

I have been using these pads since I discovered them in 2008 and have tried most every other decent knee pads (g form, 187, ProTec, Leatt, race face etc). These are the best protection and most comfortable. The dual strap enclosure is excellent and works better than the slip on style pads. Plenty of protection and most importantly comfortable enough to wear all day. You get what you pay for and these are worth it. They last a long time even with continued use, the straps/nylon/elastic will eventually wear out and they'll get gross with sweat but the pads themselves have not failed me at 40 years old. I've ruptured both bursae sacks in my knees and had countless injuries while not padded up. The kp22 are ok but these are definitely worth the extra $ and are way less bulky. Get em

I measured my knee and was within the range for the XL pads. Why in the world does the lower strap not have either some stretch like the top or more velcro?! The pads fit okay without this strap being done up, but it's a real pain. There aren't bigger pads, so I have to deal, but would an extra inch or two of velcro really break the bank?!?!

Ordered according to the measurements yet the product still did not fit. Not designed for persons with larger lower thigh-to-knee ratio. Instructions say to measure widest part of KNEE which was done, but the pads are ill-fitted if your lower thighs are fuller and shapely. Perhaps a more stretchy material. The current design does not cut it.

These are great for skating on the street.I am replacing old pads with new XL because my thighs grew and the L size is too tight. I am 6'1" 200lbs male.When you skate on the street things happen, you may miscalculate the jump etc. With these pads you can fall, get up and be still in the game without a scratch.

Very nice. soft material inside is a good buffer. but protective plastic shield can be thicker or replacable. but still very nice product. i got the biggest size by the way.

These have saved my knees a number of times when I have been dragged off my feet and along the sand by my power kite when kite buggying. They attach to your knees securely and comfortably due to their ergonomic shape. Highly recommended for action sports where knee protection is desirable. They are worth the extra cost. If you measure around your knee with leg outstretched and look at the sizing chart under Product Description you should be OK. I did this and the extra large was a good fit.
