It was okay for a first release, and I could have made it work. I did go ahead and upgrade very shortly after though. I prefer a release that is rigid rather than the cloth/nylon the connects the jaws & trigger to the wrist strap. It makes it sometimes tedious to grab the jaws to attach to your string.Usable but definitely better options out there. Good to get you started shooting and to see if you like shooting a bow in general. The trigger was light so that's good.

This is the first bow release I have ever used. I have nothing to compare it to, yet, can confidently say, it's terrible. It sloppy, hard to put on, and does not stay taught. The nylon strap for adjusting the length is so poor I had to stitch it down otherwise it would slip. The release is too sensitive as well. This thing is worth less than what they paid to make it. Bad, bad product.

This is by far the best release I have ever owned. I was a little worried about the tiny jaws on this release giving out on me, but it handles 60 lbs like a dream. I'm shooting tighter groups with my bow than I have ever shot. On the first 6 arrows I shot through the fletching of another arrow. Farley certain I could Robin Hood if I continued to shoot at the same spot. It's a very crisp trigger without adjustment. The adjustment is there if I want to make it more touch. Super crisp and comfortable. I recommend.

As titled this is an Excellent release!Wrist strap: nice buckle system, no Velcro so you can quickly put it on without guessing by marking which hole fits you and boom on in seconds. Leatherish strap padded on the inside very comfortable to have on all day.Trigger - pull weight is nice, some reviews called it a hair trigger & I'd highly disagree with that. The pull weight could actually be lighter, once you get used to I'd adjust it way lighter. Once opened it stays open & doesn't spring back shut which I prefer because inevitably there will come a time you need a quick follow-up shot and it's ready to latch back to your bow string once you have an arrow knocked, if a big buck is still standing there seconds can be the difference in tagging him or going home frustrated. Also those models which spring back shut are one more component to fail- less is more in this situationAdjustability of overall size - I'm 6'0 245lbs wear a size XL glove & it fits me with ample room to expand to bigger hands and would adjust down to fit an average woman or teenage boy.Overall - it's attractive looking, feels well made & is probably my favorite release comparing it to a Cobra release & a release which came with my Sanlida Dragon X8 bow.At the time of this writing it cost me $25 and I'd have paid $40 for it had I known how much I'd like it. It's not going to replace a $150 release but you shouldn't expect that for $25 anyway in the real world .Hopefully this unbiased review answers your questions.
