Make Your Space More Tropical with Hibiscus Plants!

Hibiscus plants are native to warm-temperate and tropical regions. In fact, there are over 200 varieties within its genus! The bright colored, pollinator friendly flowers of the hibiscus plant are known to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Your Guide to Hibiscus Plant Care

Light: Provide your plant full sunlight (6 to 8 hours). Over winter, bring your hibiscus inside and place it by a south facing window for maximum sunlight. Lots of light is needed for the best blooms.

Water: Water your hibiscus a lot over spring and summer. This means as soon as you feel the soil is dry to the touch. Be cautious not to drown your plant as hibiscus do not like wet feet, so make sure you provide good drainage as well. Over fall and winter water less frequently, allowing the top 2” or so to dry out before watering again.

Temperature: 60 to 85 F is ideal for hibiscus plants. Bring your plant inside if you are experiencing temperatures 55 F or below. A few exposures to low temperatures can kill hibiscus plants.

Humidity: Hibiscus plants LOVE humidity and will produce better flowers with higher humidity. Dry air can cause buds to drop and leaves to yellow.

Feeding: Fertilize your plant once every two weeks during spring and summer. Reduce to monthly during fall and winter.

  • Pollinator Friendly
  • Pet Friendly

  • Inside Placement: Place near a south facing window

The flowers are beautiful and very rare in color. Unfortunately this seller has a problem with bugs because the flowers I bought died fast because of them. I have other hibiscus, tropical flowers I’ve bought from numerous different stores and sellers and I’ve never had this problem before. It a shame because they are SO beautiful. I would Love to buy them again but there is a definite problem with bugs from this seller.

The plant produced flowers. The first year I owned it, which was last summer. I did not get it in the ground in time and unfortunately, I was gone for our first freeze of the season and lost my plant. That is my fault not the fault of the retailer.I will be replacing this plant.

Mine was shipped promptly and arrived safely boxed. It arrived with a few dead leaves and buds which I expected because it was travelling across the country to get to me(Florida to Michigan). I gave it a week or two to acclimate and trimmed off the dead leaves. Repotted and it is thriving! It took several weeks to see new buds but now it has about 16 buds and started to bloom! It is exactly what I wanted. The blooms stay open for about 1-2 days. Thank you for an affordable and fantastic quality plant!
