The product works fine on my 2018 Ram 1500. The instructions were pretty self explanatory that were all included Except for inserting the Post Insert for screwing the tailgate bracket into the tailgate itself. I while doing it tightened it as instructed and the washers provided with the ball bearings tightened it too much and broke one washer, but afterwards took it out and all worked as directed as the washers and bearing isn’t needed after it’s tightened down. I’m happy with the results.

I purchased this as a replacement for the one installed 4 years ago. Other than having difficulty removing the existing, this went on and works perfectly.

This tailgate assist was ten bucks cheaper than the other and seems to be as good a quality as that one. I'll see if this holds op as well as that one did. Only time will tell. The instructions were unclear and there was no bolt, just a screw. Who reads the instructions anyway.

Very reasonably priced and good quality product, pull the handle let go and the gate slowly opens downward love it no more slamming down of the tailgate

instructions are unclear. it comes with this ball bearing washer that i thought was very important. immediately after the very first figure1 instruction i thought i screwed it up. after 5 minutes of thinking it trhough i figured out they were only therre for installation of the "set nut" and can be thrown away after insertion. it would of been nice of them to say that. lol
