I liked how the this handle came already cut and equiped with good wedges. Fitting it onto my ax head was very easy and smooth. Very nice design with decent pummel. Can not beat the price either

Replacing handles sometimes can be a little tricky, and this was one of those ones where I had to do some shaving to make it a perfect fit other than that outstanding.

A little sanding needed to fit smoothly, but that is to be expected. The head fit good on a standard American axe head. I sanded them for my needs, they sanded easily. I was able to cross wedge them as well (second attempt yeilded more asthetic results).Do yourself a favor and watch a few YouTube Videos on setting a axe head, there is a science to doing it right, assuring the handle functions properly, lasts as long as possible.Good value for the money.

I originally ordered this handle for an old axe I am restoring. The odd eye size make this the only one I have found that will fit. However, upon receiving the first handle, the kerf for the wedge was cut off center, making this unusable for my axe head.I returned the original one and got an exchange that just arrived the other day, and the kerf on that one is cut the same way, off center.So, I will be returning this one as well, but, only for a refund and will try and find one in person that I can inspect before purchasing.Buyer Beware, I can't recommend use of this handle if you intend to use the axe seriously.

The form is great and very comfortable to hold. The lacquer on the wood is thin easy to remove to put boiled linseed oil on. That is a big plus. The grain of the wood is not strait so I’m not sure how long it will last.
