Upon receiving the Truss Clamp 2 Pack Stage Light Clamps, I was initially intrigued by their innovative design and potential utility for various applications. However, my enthusiasm was tempered by a critical safety concern that prevents me from using them in a professional setting.First, let's talk about the positives. These clamps appear to be reasonably well constructed and are designed with a unique concept in mind. Their ability to evenly distribute torque without causing damage to pipes or trusses is a promising feature. Additionally, the design of the clamp's opening facilitates the quick and easy attachment of lighting fixtures to their mounting surfaces. In terms of convenience and efficiency, they offer an advantage over traditional aluminum lighting clamps or older screw-on alternatives like Altman cast iron lighting clamps. However, the most significant issue with these clamps is the absence of a weight rating stamp on the product itself. Weight ratings are not just a nice-to-have feature but a crucial safety requirement, especially when it comes to flying or rigging DJ and production lighting equipment overhead. These ratings are mandated by OSHA to ensure the safe use of such equipment in professional settings.Without the manufacturer-stamped weight rating, these clamps cannot be legally employed in a professional setting, as they fail to meet the necessary safety standards. In the world of production and live events, where safety is paramount, such missing information is not just an inconvenience; it poses serious liability risks. While the price point for this pair of clamps is attractive at less than $30, the absence of a weight rating stamp renders them essentially useless in a professional context. It is imperative that the manufacturer addresses this critical oversight by properly engineering, weight testing, and certifying these clamps to ensure their safe use. Weight limits can save lives and prevent injuries, making this a matter of utmost importance. In conclusion, the Truss Clamp Stage Light Clamps show promise with their innovative design, but the absence of a weight rating stamp raises significant safety concerns. Until this critical information is properly addressed and certified, these clamps are limited to non-professional or novelty use, despite their potential convenience.

These stage clamps work great for small and medium stage lights. I have not tested these clamps with large stage lights, but they feel very sturdy and like they will hold a lot of weight. The clamps are heavy duty for most applications and made from high quality materials. I expect these clamps will outlive my current stage lights by many years even with frequent use. I would recommend this product to DJs and artists that are looking for a nice set of truss clamps for their stage lights. For $29.99 at time of this review, these clamps are a reasonably priced option for hanging stage lights.
