It's one of those items that you hope you'll never truly need to use - but should that time arise, at least you can have some piece of mind knowing that your best friend is secure. The leash is simple, easy to clip-on, made of strong and durable nylon, with a stretchy area that gives a little bit of pull, this thing locks into your regular seatbelt holder and combined with a harness ( do not just hook this thing on your dogs collar), it will give you some piece of mind knowing your furry buddy wont go flying off should you run into a situation that requires you to make a hard stop, or god forbid, an accident. Also, this isnt a product just for your bud to sit in the front seat either - just because they are in the back doesn't mean they dont need one. If anyone still remembers their physics - Things WILL travel at the same speed after a sudden stop from the backseat into the front seat and imagine a 25 lbs body flying into the back of your head or into the front passengers. No one wants that. Get this - its cheap, its durable, and it will do it's job . Let's hope it never needs to - but that's not always within your control.

This dog car seatbelt is made of strong nylon and top quality metal ends. One end slides into the seat belt buckle. The other end has a somewhat heavy locking carabiner that clips securely onto your dog’s harness (never on collar which could choke dog in a sudden stop). Strap is length adjustable, fits any standard car/truck/SUV seat belt buckle, and has a shock-absorbing bungee built in. The heavy nylon of the strap seems pretty indestructible, even for heavy chewers. The carabiner has a swivel on the end so dog doesn’t get tangled up. Length of the strap gives plenty of room for your dog to sit up or lie down.I recommend this tether mainly for larger dogs and preferably for back seat use (especially if your dog is excitable in a vehicle). I think it would be too heavy for dogs under 20 lbs. For reference, my dog weighs 30 lbs and has long legs. He’s shown seated in a Honda CR-V intermediate size SUV. The tether is not too heavy for him.NOTE: my dog normally sits in the back seat in an elevated car seat so he can see out. The seat attaches and is held in place with the seat belt — so I couldn’t use this and the seat belt buckle at the same time. But if you have a larger dog that doesn’t need a seat, this would be a wonderful way to keep your furry companion safe.

Simply put, I should have gotten this a while back. Dogs never stay in the back seat, or for that matter, stay in one place at all. One of our pups is anxious in the car, and wants to bounce around. He's 60lbs....So this arrived a couple days ago and we immediately tested it. Works like a charm. He hated it, but got the idea pretty quickly.Thick nylon webbing, adjustable length, strong clip to his harness or collar, and just buckled him in to to speak.Length is good for allowing or restricting movement as you need to. It's got a bit of give so that he can learn, and to keep him safe from every bump/jerk the car hits.Rolls up nice and tight and fits in the seat pocket, or rear area. Also works for holding other items in place. Helped hold a load of items that might have broken the rear window sliding around on a dirt road, had we not connected this hook over the back seat, and then "buckled" it in.2 days in and I'm already happy that we ordered this.

This doggie seatbelt gets 4 paws up! I have a 15 pound dachshund who frequently rides in my passenger seat, sitting in his doggie bed, which makes him feel at home. I’ve wanted a seatbelt for him for awhile now. He has a good harness, custom-made to fit him. This harness is well-made and buckled straight into my Jeeps seatbelt. It also buckled into my daughter’s Prius when she gave him a ride. I didn’t realize seatbelt buckles were universal, but I learn something new every day. So, I love that this buckles in, making it a quick way to secure him. The seatbelt itself has reflective stripes and a springy last 4 or so inches where it attaches to my dog. I like that feature, because it softens the abrupt jerk if I suddenly stopped. Hopefully that will never happen. The seatbelt length is adjustable. My only complaint is that I wish it could adjust even shorter. For my dachshund, the shortest setting allows him to wander to the front of the seat and partially slide off the seat, towards the floorboard. He would just end up dangling in front of the seat. This is very dangerous both to my dog and to me, due to the extreme driving distraction it would cause. For this hazard, I’m only deducting one star, because it could be easily corrected by advertising this seatbelt for medium sized dogs and larger and mentioning that it is not appropriate for small dogs.Critique aside, I think this seatbelt is very well made, uses appropriate-duty strapping and hardware, is attractive and easy to use. For $8, this dog seatbelt is a bargain.

I've used similar items before, they're not hard to find. It's a super-convenient solution for strapping your pup in the car. One end goes on the collar, the other clips into the seatbelt receptacle. Easy to remove when you're not using it and want the seatbelts free for people. So what stands out about this particular brand? First, it is obvious that they use quality materials. Big difference from other similar dog seat belts I've had before. The red is a nice, vibrant color, the stitching looks perfect, and the belt is edged with a reflective thread to make it stand out. The metal carabiner and the seat belt loop feel and look like quality metals. Second, the carabiner is a robust, all-metal, locking carabiner for extra safety, and it is able to rotate 360 degrees around to allow your dog some flexibility of movement. Third, lifetime materials warranty, wow! With this brand priced similarly to other models of lower quality, it goes without saying, definitely check out this Tuff Pupper dog seat belt.
