purchased this to service my home lawn mower.. the included spark plug lasted about 15 minutes and lawn mower quit… would not start with this plug…replaced with the original plug that was in the motor and fired up and ran great. Everything else in this kit worked as expected and fit well.

I take care of a relatives yard. I purchased a good quality used lawnmower that had many Issues. It was difficult to start, once it did start it would stop. It sat unused for three or four years. I’ve never done work on a lawnmower before. I have no mechanical skills. I am not handy. It was a bit intimidating. Every place that I checked to get a tuneup wanted between $125 and 150. I bought this kit and decided to try it myself.I went out online and found videos about how to change the oil, change the air filter, change, spark, plug, and clean a carburetor. I did it in a systematic order that made sense. So, I warmed up the lawnmower first before draining the gas. I did so using the old spark plug so I didn’t get contaminants on the new spark plug. After warming it up, then I drained the gas, Cleaned the carburetor, Changed the oil, replace the filter, and replaced the spark plug last. This kit contained everything that I needed. Parts seemed like good quality parts. The only thing extra I needed was a spark, plug wrench and carburetor cleaner.On the second pull, It started. I then cut the entire yard. It has started on the first pull ever time since.Do not be afraid to try something new. Be careful to follow the directions scrupulously.This kit saved me over $100. The entire process took less than two hours, but that was because I had never done this before I was cautious.

Having one of these kits onhand helps when taking the mower to the shop because there is less waiting and there are no surcharges for having to obtain the needed parts. I had a kit ordered when I bought the mower, have recently used it, and order this kit to replace that kit.
