It took awhile to install as the instructions that came with the mounting plate(s) were pretty sad but I figured it out. Took lots of patience (take your time) "adjusting & centering" on the actual saddle bags (Tusk Pilot's) onto the mounting plate. I ended up going to Youtube university to get some ideas on how to make this might work. The Tusk rack system is great but could be better I suppose. I was ecstatic when I got the bags but was also amazed just how small they are compared to the "Olympia" bags. Oh well!The "strapping" system on the bags is a bit much but it is what it is! Once you figure it out, it's easy peazy! You may end up cutting the strapping some to eliminate wild straps blowing in the wind. The bags came with 2 yellow dry bags that go inside each saddle bag for water protection as the Pilot saddlebags are only water resistant. I have not been caught in a rain storm yet but I can imagine the bags would get througholly wet. They unattach easily from the Tusk Pannier racks specifically made for the '07 KLR650. I also have the mounting hardware for my hard cased (Pelicans 1550 cases) that came with the Tusk pannier racks. Makes swapping from soft to hard bags real eazy! All in All? I am happy with my purchase!

I bought these to use on my 1200GS, which already has luggage racks. These don't fit. That's ok, I thought, I can get the matching racks.... No, I can't. They don't make them for my bike. After some searching I discovered they make racks for a small handful of bikes and if you don't have one of those, these are completely useless. Attempted to return after discovering this, my return was refused. Wound up buying the Nelson-Rigg luggage mount which mounts to ANY rack. Much better product.

Fit perfectly on Tusk pannier racks. I used them with the Tusk soft bags, but any soft bag would be easy to mount to this. Did have a little play that would have rattled so I added a bit of adhesive weather strip between the rack and plate. Worked great!
