This is by far the heaviest duty rack you will find for a Honda XR650L. Every part on it is thankfully overbuilt. The sub-frame supports are a great touch as you should never load this motorcycle down without them. The reason I have it four stars is because of the frame plate that mounts where the passenger pegs go. The bolt hole that allows you to put aftermarket passenger pegs on is off by a little more than 1/4 inch. Not a huge deal to fix, but when I buy something I expect to not have to fix it before I use it. I still HIGHLY recommend this top rack and sub-frame support kit over any other one out there. I researched this modification for weeks and this is the absolute best.

I was missing some hardware. Directions were vague, printed in black and white so it made it hard to see any of the pictures. There is a YouTube video showing you step by step directions for install. Very rigid and adds a ton of stability. Spend the money.. you’ll be happy you did.

Only complaints are instructions are nearly useless and holes for passengers foot pegs don't line up witch in my application didn't matter because I didn't put passengers pegs back on, I put the rack on my 2022 xr650L the holes may line up on an older xr650L or xr650 all in all a good sturdy rack 👍

The instructions are printed on a black and white copier and the photos are impossible to make out, the product looks to be well made and apart from the turn signal wires not being long enough for the recommended relocation area, all goes together well

Over kill..... Unless you carry 150lbs on your rack 😮 while ...I don't know...racing 🙄Too heavy 1/4" steel adds 10+lbs.Awkward design ...90 degree welds with a pad for the chain to hit.😣(it does a lot if you have a lowering link😐)If your a normal dual sport adventure bike rider you know...50 lbs on your rack feels like a ton and is about what you need for a weeklong run.You don't ANY supports for that kinda weight....you know...normal🤔🙄😎. M.Check out nice aluminum supports and rack

Don't waste your money on those other ones. This is the one to buy an its sold.it cost twice as much ($130) but it worth the money.Look at the picture. It actually mounted to the lower frame.

This rack is solid however the instructions leave a lot to be desired and there were a couple holes which were way off and had to be re-drilled to get the bolts through. I debated multiple times after being frustrated to send it back. If you end up buying this have patience and realize you will probably not have everything line up as it should. Obviously the manufacturer has dropped the ball on this product and doesn’t seem to have much quality control. However, this is a very sturdy rack and once I was done installing it I am happy with it. It took almost 4 hours to install due to the problems with misalignment. If you have an aftermarket exhaust like I did you will also have to buy some different bolts and spacers to make it work.

Tusk has a great reputation for a reason, I love the rack. If there is one drawback it’s the extra weight, the support brackets are steel and heavy. Yes I know steel is strong, but I was surprised at the total weight of the system. I’m not saying I don’t like it, I’m very happy. But the support bracket seem a little over done in regards to thick heavy steel. Would I buy again, yes.
