My lefty child loves these pencils but the lead runs out quickly. So I bought this refill. I followed the directions on the package, but the replacement lead would just slide out making it frustrating and functionally unusable. Here are the directions to both refill the pencil and fix lead that falls out:Position the pencil so the logo is facing down1a) Insert the plunger per the directions and removed the old lead or1) Pull the lead out2) Twist the tip of the pencil counter clockwise until it will not turn anymore3) Slide the lead back in. It should only be insertable for about 1/3 of the lead so 2/3 will stick out the top. If the lead falls all the way into the tip, repeat steps 1-34) Twist the tip clockwise now until the top of the lead fully retracts into the pencil5) Twist the tip counter clockwise to reveal the lead tip. It should be gripped in the pencil now

These do the job for the special pincher pencils, however the lead seemed to break easily on my students which made it difficult. I think it’s worth it to buy the packs so you have a bunch of extra lead!

Ordered these refills to go in the rocket pencil. My grandson has motor skills problems. He gets very upset when things go wrong with his writing. The original lead was light in color. I put one of these in and it wrote dark, He was happy!!

Thick lead makes it easy for my kiddo to take care of loading his pencil back up with 6 packs hopefully it lasts quite awhile

My daughters have hypermobile joints and the OT gave them one of these Twist N write pencils to try. The result has been less to no hand pain when they have large writing assignments. They take some getting used to, and my eldest got some teasing at school for being different, but that is nothing the manufacturer can control. These work well and are easy on the hands. Switching out the lead is simple, just use firm pressure, I'm not really sure why so many others are having a hard time with this. The led fits in well and stays in, and once piece actually lasts longer than I expected. All in all works as designed!

I teach kindergarten and often students struggle to write. Many students nowadays are “touch screen kids”. They don’t have a proper “pencil grip” or hand strength.I bought these pencils after trying many other options and in 1 day, my struggling student were writing legibly! They are building confidence and writing skills with this fabulous pencil! I made sure to purchase the refills as well.

I got this lead to go with the twist n write pencils for my son with autism. He has a hard time grasping standard pencils so his occupational therapist recommended these. I really love this lead because it's nice and thick like a No. 2 pencil so I don't have to worry about sharpening or the lead breaking every few seconds. Really LOVE these. They have helped improve his handwriting SO much.

We have a son on the spectrum. He is doing quite well, especially at school, but writing is a real chore and struggle. His OT recommended investing in these & We have been very happy with them. The style forces a correct grip and the design is fun and cute enough to not scream 'special needs.' We made a little case for our son with these and some fun erasers to make the act of writing more pleasant for him. Taking one star off for price, but as any special needs parent will tell you, nothing that helps our kiddos is cheap.Worthwhile investment for kids struggling with grip & writing.
