the replacement core thickness was approximately one-third less than oem if I know anything about thermodynamics that would decrease the rate of thermal energy exchange between the two systems. I chose to keep my thicker oem core and reuse it.

Great fix for my XTERRA. Has been installed several months now and no leaks. Paired with Dorman tubes it fixes heater core leaking issues that plague the first gen XTERRA. Close to OEM but slightly smaller which helps during installation.
