I enjoy the effectiveness and flexibility of this floater. I use it for deep water aerobics as do many others including the instructor who recommended I but it. Happy with the purchase.

My son has some nerve damage from a TBI and this is helping so much to allow him to continue swim practice and stay safe if he starts to sink a little. It doesn’t pull him up like a life jacket but it gives him a little boost to stay upright. It’s nice that the floaters can be moved around too.

Works great for what I need it for! I use this to help build up strength while learning/practicing my swimming. It holds me up in the water enough that I don't drown but allowes me to position my body to practicemy different swimming stokes safely. Similarly to if you tied a cheap pool noodle to your waist somehow. I also like that I can remove the floats as I become a stronger swimmer and can still have some support as I need it. I do recommend tying a knot in the left over belt strap after tightening it around your waist. Otherwise the belt strap slides as you move in the water slowly loosing.

I wanted just a light level of buoyancy assistance, to make hanging around in the lake something where I didn’t need to be actively treading water so I could stay out even longer. But I didn’t want a lot of lifting up (I want to be IN the water) or anything bulky. I started looking for something like this belt when I thought wouldn’t it be cool to have a floatation noodle that I could wrap around my torso and have it clip there in a loop? But this is way better than that.Easy to adjust. I am plus size, densely built, waist around 45” and weight probably around 240 lbs. There was room in the belt for it to go bigger if I had needed it to. It was easy to forget it was on, and it did not impede swimming at all (I wasn’t trying to do laps or anything with it on). It turned out to be useful when I needed to help wrangling a boat hook to a buoy in choppier water, not having to use my arms as much to stay upright and stable.

I bought these for myself because so many of the ones at the YMCA only have a couple of floats left on them making them useless for water aerobics. Because of a manufacturing defect, these belts will rip easily. They are made so the thin part of the float is against your back, However, the thick part of the float needs to be against your back because after time the thin part will rip and fall off the belt.

My TYR Floatation Belt is exactly what I wanted. It fits great, easy to use and most importantly, keeps me afloat in the water so I can feel more confident swimming laps!!

I bought this swimming aid/floatie about 2 months ago for my son. He starts to swim by his own, has taken many swimming lessons, but is not strong enough yet to float and swim by himself. Therefore, i bought those to help him stay at the surface of the water. I bought your brand because i trusted the name. There were many different options, but Tyr being a good brand name, i thought they would be of good quality.About a month after i bought the floatie, my son was swimming with it (there were 3 black foams on it, he didn't need the other ones) and suddenly, while swimming calmly, one of the black foams broke off. It's a good thing i had an eye on my son, because otherwise he could've drowned. I had to rush to go help him.Yesterday, about a month later the first incident, he was wearing this same floatie belt and had two black foams on. Once again, while swimming calmly, one of the black foam broke off. Once again, i had to rush to go help my son, or he could've drowned. The product was not misused and actually barely used: we used it about 4 times in a two months period. I am very worried by the poor quality of this product. I'm disappointed, and extremely worried a child will drown one day because of this swimming belt and poor attention of his guardians.

I have issues with my ears and thus have chosen to do laps with my head above water. This belt helps me do this without fatigue swimming for one hour. The black floaters are a little long. I am only 5'2" and these are slightly awkward. I have adapted to this by using only five of the black foam bricks. This belt dries quickly. I am able to leave this belt in my gym locker after drying it for a few hours indoors. The blue part of the belt is well constructed. The buckle is sturdy and does not get in the way. The blue belt is quite long so if your waist is large it should not be too small.Update: One year of almost daily use and it remains intact. A few times one of the black foam bricks has torn, but always along the seam. Thus, I am able to repair it with fabric glue and restore it to full use. This is a product I am glad I bought. Would purchase another without hesitation.
