What can I say about this brand meter. I used the school's dmm that wasn't a clamp meter. But when I saw they have clamp meters I purchased the 479 model and fell in love with it. I purchased a digital multimeter from this brand as well to have a multimeter. I also purchased this one for the purpose of inrush current function and faster reading of capacitors. Also it's a new meter for 2023 . I said in another meter of this brand that it is the fluke of hvacr meters. Fluke is more for electricians than this brand of meter (although they have some hvacr meters). I trust this brand of meter and who cares about beeping on the revolving dial just so long as it works.

How do you disable the beep that occurs every time you make a selection via the selector knob. I have used Multimeters since the 1980's. I have never used one that beeped as much as this meter. A typical meter would only beep during a continuity check that provided continuity. Even this function is typically can be disabled by the user. I called tech support at the manufacturer and they stated that there is no user interface that allows for the beep function to be disabled. This meter even beeps loudly before it times out and shuts itself off. I did disable the beep function on my meter by disabling the speaker physically. Now my meter is a purely silent piece of test equipment. Great meter for current readings and for temperature readings necessary for HVAC technical measurements.
