I have a Canon Vixia HF M40 camcorder that we still use for home videos. The camera can't read the status of the battery so you have no idea how much time or charge is left.

I've only charged the battery and used them enough to know that they work. I'll update after a couple of months, but for 2 batteries, a compact charger, and a 12v charging cord for about $25 I think this was a great deal. I purchased this for an old Canon F20 camcorder that we haven't used in forever - I thought we could just put it in our Jeep for our 12 year old daughter to document our adventures. So far, GREAT buy.

These batteries are for use in a Canon Vixia HF-S20 video camera that is an older model. The batteries are branded with a well known photography brand. They arrived well packaged and took a charge in the included travel charger which also worked well. They both easily inserted into the camera and fired it right up as expected. However, they are nearly impossible to remove without prying them out with a flat screw driver placed in a small gap at the top of the battery and giving a bit of a twist. Hopefully, they will loosen up somewhat with use. It appears that the issue is with the battery's contacts and not the case itself. For the price, they appear to work well and time will tell if they will become easier to extract from the camera. (Note: I have not contacted the seller about this so this review is on the product itself and not the seller.)

My batteries and charger came branded as Vivitar, not someone I had never heard of. The part numbers were correct and they fit. Previously I got Kastar batteries and they substituted 819 for my 808 order and they were too big to use. I called the Kastar help line and was told "too bad". Therefore, I bought these Vivitars and they DO fit. I'll be using them this week. The charger worked and the batteries charged in about an hour from 50%.

This is perfect for my Canon camcorder. When I got the camcorder, it was set up so the battery is charged in the camcorder; no outside charger. This set not only came with 2 batteries, BUT also had a battery charger with both car charger and AC. So, I will not be without charged batteries. It also came with a European adapter plug. AND if this wasn't enough, there is a small Accessories kit that has cleaning fluid, cloth, small tripod, screen protectors, a micro SD wallet and cottons swabs. This is a really nice perk. Item came quickly, and I am very satisfied!

The product, Batteries and Charger were as advertised. They recharged as claim very quickly, and also2 other Original Canon batteries. So with 4 batteries at my disposal, I was able to video and snap pictures on my 2 week Viking Homeland Cruise. I haven't check for the total length of my film, but it is somewhere around 2 hours long. As you probably know Canon Batteries are at least twice the cost (one) as the package I purchased. The tripod was also a welcome addition as was the foreign plug converter. Very happy customer.RSP

It seems to be working okay. But I was very disappointed that when I put it in the camera, it is smaller than the original battery (by Canon). Therefore, it looks like it is an off brand. It makes the battery look like a cheap-o. I don't know why it could not be made the same size as the original batter. It fits in there, but it looks like it doesn't belong there. I like having the charger to plug right into the wall.

I waited to review these so I could use them and get an honest read. This kit got me through volleyball season. I would estimate battery life to be slightly shorter than the original Canon battery but with two pieces, it didn't matter. I took the charger with me to the games and found a wall outlet so when one drained, I just plugged it in and used the other one. They charge much faster than the original Canon. The down side is that the charger is not compatible with the original Canon battery. I did not have the opportunity to use the tripod other than to tell you it held my tiny camcorder just fine. I was just afraid of it getting hit by a volleyball so I never used it.
