Compact it is. Fits nicely on bathroom countertop and it looks good. Description says ample capacity--well that depends on what you want to use an ultrasonic cleaner for. This is conveniently small if you have a retainer or the like but slightly too small to immerse the removable brush ends of SOME electric toothbrushes. Some fit entirely inside, but several did not and all I could do is lean those inside while tilting the cover so that the ultra violet light would strike what did fit. Repeating the pulsing long cycles a few times did dislodge everything from the bottom of the bristle areas. However, leaving the brushes in the dishwasher through a couple cycles did the same thing, albeit without the value of UV light.Took me a while to realize the count down timer was using seconds, until then I was thinking minutes and was getting annoyed with the poor timer!!! Admittedly dumb of me but dumb of seller to describe timing in terms of minutes! There is a strainer of sorts which presumably will help one keep one's denture or retainer in the unit while pouring out the liquid. It fits but not superbly, as you have to hold it in place while pouring. Frankly, it makes more sense to reach in, remove what you are cleaning and then pour out the liquid.Somehow, I can't get enthused over this. However, the real value of this unit I think is have UV lights, which does indeed have some antimicrobial effect.

My wife and I both recently finished Invisalign and are now in our retainers. We’ve been throwing the cleaning crystal in a glass of water and letting them soak. We’ve found that we need to leave them in the cup for at least 4 hours to get nice and clean. We are very happy with this ultrasonic cleaner. It takes just 10 minutes to clean our retainers. The first time we used it we were amazed at how much cleaner it got our retainers than the 4 hours of soaking. I haven’t tried the 5 minute cleaning yet since I only clean them usually once a week and just throw them in the cleaner for 10 minutes while I take a shower.Overall, I think it is a good price and it cleans so much better than soaking them. I highly recommend it.

This compact cleaner worked well for me in cleaning my dental appliance. It is easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of space. Though not dead quiet, it's surely quieter than an electric shaver, water flosser, or electric toothbrush. I think it also would do a fine job on small jewelry items. The drain tray doesn't add much for cleaning a dental item, but I imagine it could be useful if cleaning several small pieces of jewelry.

I got this more for a jewelry cleaner than dental appliance cleaner. I was never really a 'mall' fan, but I admit one benefit to shopping at the mall was that all the jewelry stores offered free cleaning and they all used ultrasonic cleaner - the 'Gold' standard for jewelry cleaning. Growing up my grandpa also had his own US cleaner, so keeping our rings and jewelry clean and shiny was easy. Now, you never go to a jewelry store. This cleaner works great, it brought the base shine back to my rings and other jewelry. I didn't use the sanitize on them as I can't see a point or benefit for that.I did run my sonic toothbrush though the sanitize. I'm not super convinced that this concept is really useful, but I have it so why not. I don't have the lab tools at the moment to test the brush or other items before/after the 'sanitize' cycle, so for argument sake - sure it's cleaner than it was when I put it in, I don't think it's dirtier at least.Either way, really nice, small/compact design, but still big enough to clean my jewelry well.

Always looking for ways to reduce germs and keep dental appliances clean. This does both. It's a small, nice looking little cleaning machine. It was easy to understand the instructions and even easier to use. Just add water (it comes w/2 cleaning tablets) up to the fill line, drop in your item(s), close the lid and press the power button (each press changes the mode). I like that it has a countdown times visible so you how it is running and how much longer it has left to run. It is very quiet. Used for my retainers and jewelry. For my jewelry I just dropped in my ring and earrings (w/o any tablet) in the water and run the ultrasonic cleaning mode. I was pleasantly surprised to open the lid when finished and see bits of debris in the water - dirt that it vibrated/cleaned off of my jewelry - which I thought was fairly clean to begin with. My jewelry came out sparkling! The tongs can be used to pick out your smaller items from the water or use the half moon shaped piece by placing it on the rim to dump out water but keep in your smaller items in the cleaner. Though I'd rather pick them out with the tongs to make sure I don't accidently dump a small jewelry item down the drain. Seems to be well made and a well thought out design.

I received this product to submit a fair and honest review. That said, I have used it several times, and with following instructions it works very well to clean off dirt and other "stuff" that accumulates without all the brushing that usually goes along. I have nothing but good to say about how it performs and the quality of the results! Do just be aware (this may not even be an issue for most) that it makes a high pitch ringing as it's working that could be distracting if you're planning on using it in a quiet area, or are sound intolerant. The build seems to be good quality, its performance is more than satisfactory, and I've had zero issues with any dirt or grime in hard to reach tiny areas of rings not coming out perfectly clean and shining like new!
