This large mouth is pretty clunky for my small hands. I am an ESL teacher and was hoping this would help me show students tongue placement. It's actually very stiff, so the tongue is the only useful part of this. I realized that it doesn't help me show lip placement because you can't move the stiff lips. Now it is only a funny prop in my classroom and good for showing the phrase "brush your teeth."

I teach voice lessons and help people improve their accent. When I saw this mouth/tongue puppet I couldn't believe my eyes! It's exactly what I need to show where the tongue needs to be for specific phonemes and sounds. It is otherwise very difficult to show tongue positions, especially in relation to the teeth. This is a very easy and clear way to show it. I didn't know they made puppet-like models you can manipulate like this. The teeth and mouth are made of plastic and the tongue is made of felt. The tongue is a little stiff, but it works fine. I can slip four fingers into it to move the tongue up and down and curl the tip, etc. The large size makes it easy. This model is obviously an excellent way to demonstrate tooth brushing as well, and of course, great for speech therapy.
