This fabric underlayment is a disappointment. It is far too thin to be labeled as 6 ounce. The fabric when unrolled/unfolded and inspected, is thickest at its perimeter. It then immediately thins out to such an extent that I needed to double it over onto itself for it to be of any use. It is so thin, light easily passes through it. It also was fairly easy to pull the fibers apart. For comparison, the Vevor brand I purchased was twice as thick and much higher in quality. I suggest the Vevor, which is a superior geotextile fabric and gives a better estimation of its actual thickness. This Underguard fabric isn't worth the price, in my opinion.

Had an issue with a return and they went out of their way to make it right. The product was perfect, it just turned out I didn't need it. Would definitely recommend.

The material in the selling photos make this material appear thick. This stuff is as thin as any other barrier material. At this price and for what they thoat as for using ad an underlayment for a pond is a joke. This won't protect the EPDM liner any more than weed barrier cloth bought at Home Depot

I installed this underlayment beneath the liner on my 10,000 gallon koi pond. It is thick but easy to work with. It seems to be doing a great job, I had a lot of small roots to deal with. I am confident that my liner is well protected. Also, while installing the liner over the underlayment, adjustments to the liner were easy, as the liner moved easily against the underlayment. I did use small biodegradable plastic stakes to hold the underlayment in place while I installed the liner on top of the underlayment. Great product.
