I ordered this Unisex Kids Compression Set hoping it would be a good base layer for my 9-year-old daughter during the cold winter months. While the material and concept are good, there are a couple of issues to consider. First, I wish I had sized up. Even though my daughter is petite, she found the compression feel of the set to be too tight and uncomfortable. This is something to keep in mind, especially if your child is sensitive to tight-fitting clothing. Secondly, the leggings are clearly designed with boys in mind. While they are marketed as unisex, the crotch area features an extra panel and stitching to accommodate male anatomy. My daughter found this detail visually unappealing and refused to wear the leggings, even as a base layer. It's unfortunate, as they would have been perfect for added warmth.The top, on the other hand, would have been great if we had sized up. The material is thin and lightweight, making it ideal for layering. However, due to the sizing issue, it's not getting much use. I recently discovered the set pushed to the bottom of her drawer, which tells me she's not a fan. Despite these issues, the set is value-priced and the material is of decent quality. If you're buying for a boy, or if you're confident in sizing up and your child isn't bothered by the fit, this set might work for you. However, for girls, especially those sensitive to fit and design, I'd recommend looking for a more specifically designed option.

This is a nice quality set. The reason I didn't score it as high is because I didn't realize that there was a pattern in the material until after I received it. When I go to look back at the pictures in the listing, you can see the pattern on the shirt in one of them, but not the others. My daughter needed a solid long sleeve black shirt and black leggings but could not use this set since it had the pattern in it though it was all still one color. Silky feel material.

Great fit! True to size. Fabric is soft, well made, sewn beautifully, great color. Works great for layering or for wearing by itself. Really happy with this set.

My soon to be 5yo son is playing winter soccer league, and I needed something that he could wear under his soccer uniform that would help keep him warm, but that was also breathable. This compression set fit the bill perfectly and has worked out amazingly well. He's worn it for several games so far and finds it warm and comfortable to play in. It's compression geared, but doesn't restrict his movement by any means. The material is soft, and on the thinner side which is exactly what we were looking for. It's washed great and hasn't shown any signs of pilling or the material coming apart. He is on the taller side for his age, and the 6yrs size fits him perfectly with a little room left to grow. It's been a great addition to his soccer uniform and we couldn't be happier with it overall. It's a great value for the price and I would recommend it without hesitation.

I bought size 8 for my 6 year old and it fit perfectly — so I’d say sizing up is the way to go. Below the knee the pants fit a bit more like leggings, but are looser above the knee.Since these are polyester, I wasn’t sure how warm they would keep her. (Most of her clothes are cotton.) But she reported she was fine with just these and her sweater and jacket during recess on a 45 degree (Fahrenheit) day.
