These little meters work great and do everything we ask. I bought my guys there own and they even read DC amps. Very worth the money. Also true RMS.

This is nice current clamp / multimeter. The meter has a really large array of functions that make it useful for a variety of tasks. One of the main uses the meter was designed for is current measurement. My first test was using the clamp to measure the current on a 20 A circuit. The actual reading I got was 17.89 A which is a realistic value for the circuit with a load. Since AC current varies under load, the meter did display changes and then I used the Hold function to retain my measurement.I also tried the low volts DC and it measured within 1-2 mV of what I use a as reference. I also tried the voltage sense function and it does seem to work well if you read and understand what is being conveyed by the meter. The other functions such as resistance, frequency, and the various current scales are useful for a large variety of tasks in a compact easy to hold meter. The meter came in a nice case with leads and 2 AAA batteries - I like this as 9V batteries as in other meters are much more expensive and don't really last too long.Overall, I think this is an excellent design by UNI-T with a great deal of functionality, good accuracy and in a very compact easy to hold package.

I'm looking for clamp meters that do a good job measuring DC current. I've had good experiences with other UNI-T equipment, so I was eager to try this one.The unit is definitely more compact than my standard UNI-T clamp meter, but not so small that it's hard to operate. I like this form factor.I strongly prefer rotary function-select switches instead of "push this button again and again" selectors. Unfortunately, this unit combines both -- you use the dial to select from three current ranges, two voltage options (contact/non-contact), and "everything else". But once you select a current range (and why no auto-ranging here?), you have to hit a button twice to switch to DC current mode. I would LOVE this meter if it had dial selections for "AC current" and "DC current", but it does not.The other disappointment is accuracy on the DC current range. Measuring DC current with a non-contact Hall-effect sensor is just tricky; any external magnetic field (including Earth's field) registers as a bias, so you have to zero out the meter WHILE IT'S IN THE SAME ORIENTATION AND POSITION that you use for the measurement. Fortunately, there's a convenient ZERO button (and this IS a good use for a button); unfortunately, even after doing everything right, it seemed like I was getting readings that were usually off by around 5%, sometimes more. This will still be useful, but it's not as good as I'm used to from UNI-T.So, yeah, a couple of disappointments here, but I'm still going to be using this meter fairly heavily, and it'll likely be my first choice for travel. On the whole, I can still recommend it.
