There are times when you are repairing a PVC pipe and you can't find a way to cut from outside, not enough room. Cutting from inside of the pipe using the transparent depth stopper made it much easier to use and see inside what I was cutting. It did cut the pvc easily and slower speeds are better. I recommend the product.

I used for the title the part of this kit that is the most useful for what I do. I really don't mess with PVC much so cannot speak to how well this works for it's intended purpose. Based on how well the blades work I think it probably does a great job on pvc cutting. I can see how useful the depth gauge would be in making straight cuts on pipe pretty good concept. I use the blades for removing pieces of wood at the bottom of these Mugs and cups I make from tree limbs. They are usually about 3 to 5 inches deep and it's not easy to remove all the pieces left over from using chisels. A Dremel like tool is optimum but finding durable blades isn't easy. This kit uses a 14" shank that fits in both impact and drills. I would rather use something lighter and easier to control but these do a great job. I may see if I can just buy replacement Blades if they last long enough.

I had to cut my pipe to use a repair toilet flange, and this worked great. it cut the PVC easily, although too high a speed can cause the PVC to soften, so keep the speed medium. I really liked the transparent depth disk, as it allowed me to see what was going on inside the pipe.

Upon picking this item up, I didn't realize that it wasn't for typical 3/4" or 1/2" water pipe. Therefore, I couldn't truly put the item to the test. Now, that being said I did examine this kit very well, putting the pieces together etc and examining quality.First, the blades are super sharp, oiled for their protection, and fit perfectly on the drill shank. Also, the large piece, to prevent you from cutting to deep is of great quality as well. It tightens using a tiny Allen wrench. Also, included are screws and nuts, that tighten the blades to the shank. All items are contained within a little box, that is the size of a couple cd cases stacked. In my opinion, this will have no problems cutting through PVC pipe or thin metal, when the time arises. If only they had included blades for normal water pipe! However, this was my error and the title doesn't make that really clear.Reviewing: Upgraded 1/4" Hex Shank PVC Pipe Inside Cutter (4 PCS Titanium Coated Saw Blades), PVC Cutting Tool with Scaled Adjustable Depth Gauge for Cutting PVC Pipes, Plastic Pipes

Poor quality. The ball bearing housing comes apart; the locknuts for the guide and blade are very fragile and don't hold. Buy a real tool

I bought this tool specifically for cutting 2-inch schedule 40 PVC as part of my pool heat pump setup, but it struggled with the job. The tool kept coming apart under the pressure, which made it impossible to complete the cut, and I eventually had to give up.The tool’s design is clever, and it feels durable and well-made overall. It’s also simple to assemble, with a few extra replacement parts included, which I appreciated. However, during use, the cutting guide’s nut loosened from the rotational force more than once, even after reassembling it to make sure it was installed correctly.Additionally, I found that you need to use the larger blade for exterior cuts; otherwise, the guide can interfere with the pipe and block the blade from reaching the surface properly. Even when it did work somewhat, the blade often slipped off, and the resulting edge was uneven and jagged—nothing like the smooth cut shown in the product images. While I may try this tool again on different materials, it didn’t meet my expectations for working with 2-inch PVC on this project.
