I have around 90 LED lights around my house - spotlights, path lights, fence lights, flood lights, deck lights - you get the idea. I have 2 transformers running them - each 200W. I ordered this to upgrade to higher power so that I could add more lights. Here's what I like:1) 300W. This is 50% larger than my current transformers.2) Light sensor that can be mounted away from the transformer. This is key since one of my current transformers is now behind a bush that continues to get larger. It turns on much sooner than the other transformer due to the coverage from the bush.3) Settings for various time lengths - from dusk to dawn, 2 hr, 4 hr, 6 hr, 8 hr. I tend to use dusk to dawn.4) 2 taps to connect lights in two different directions. What I don't like:1) There are 6 screws for connections. There are no labels on the housing itself - you have to refer to the enclosed manual to know that 1 and 4 are common (ground), 2 and 5 are 12V, and 3 and 6 are 14V. Not sure why the 14V is included. I also don't know why they didn't add a decal or some embossed markings to indicate what screw is what. Not a great design. But at least you can connect two runs directly to the transformer feeding different directions.I will be hooking this up later in the spring. I'll report back if I have any issues. Overall, seems to be a very solid product.

Finally found one transformer able to work on my garden lights, and even work well with the Christmas lights. Good enough to keep them all night long!

Exactly what I needed to power my led light systems. No complaints so far. Not much else I can say about it.

I have a commercial stainless transformer and several variants of these. The commercial unit is just a transformer, you plug in your timer of choice into an outlet and light sensor of choice. I use a smart plug for it. I much prefer those however they are expensive. Transformers are really hard to kill, they last ages, survive direct water exposure, my commercial unit was flooded several times and still works. But it's just a transformer, timers, and sensors you plug in. What would fail on one of these units is the circuitry, since it's integrated. Something commercial units don't use as those components you plug in yourself so they are easily replaceable. I don't see an IP rating and the casing doesn't look like it would be sealed, just be sure to install it under say a deck or out of the weather and they will probably last you a long time. Great thing about it is you can mount it in a protected area and run the light sensor a good number of feet away out in the weather.Keep in mind this is 300 watts, you should aim for not more than 75-80% utilization, but most landscape lights these days are 5 watts, maybe some large spots are 20, but you could run 40+ lights of this assuming the rating is correct. It's weighty it feels as heavy almost as my 300 watt commercial unit but it's hard to max these out these days since led's use minimal watts and i have a ton of lights.

I got this so that I could add 6-8 low voltage lights out in the front of my house. The stairs are incredibly dark and several guests as well as myself have fallen on them. This transformer is very easy to mount and connect lights to. Simply mount it on the side of your home. Since you lose power over greater distances, I recommend installing it close to where you want to put your lights rather than where an electrical plug is. You can always run an extension cord to it. Plus, it will save you money on the landscape wire.To run the lights, I would recommend using 12/2 direct burial landscape wire, You will want to measure out the distance from the transformer through every last light so that you will know how much wire to get, Places like Lowe’s and Home Depot cans often sell the wire by the foot which is way cheaper than buying an entire roll of copper wire. The transformer simply needs to plug into any electrical outlet. Then, attach wires to the screw terminal on the bottom. The transformer has a timer function as well as a photo cell that will turn on/off your lights when it detects light or a lack of light.I highly recommend this item if you are looking to just add a few lights to your yard or outdoor space. Solar lights are a pain and only work for so long.

I did not expect this transformer to be as heavy-duty as it is. Well designed, easy to set up, and based on what I see so far, built to last. I don't even remember how many landscape lighting transformers I had to replace in the past (they always seem to fail before anything else), but I'm confident that this one will truly serve us for years to come.

I’m very impressed with this Low Voltage Transformer! It works perfectly for converting my 120V household AC voltage to the safe 12/14V AC, which is ideal for my LED and landscape lighting system. The fact that it comes with a 39-inch cable and light-control wiring makes installation super convenient, and I can easily set it up both indoors and outdoors. The Dusk to Dawn photoelectric sensor feature is fantastic! It automatically adjusts to the light, turning on at dusk and off at dawn, which is perfect for energy savings. Plus, I can set a countdown for the lights (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours), giving me full control over when I want my lights on.This transformer is very versatile and built to last. It’s waterproof and rugged enough to handle the outdoor elements, so I don’t have to worry about weather damage. It works great for my landscape lighting, path lights, and outdoor spotlights. What I really appreciate is the built-in circuit protection. If there's an issue with the circuit, it disconnects to prevent damage, and the memory function saves the last mode setting, which makes it super easy to use.Installation was a breeze too—sturdy materials, mounting holes, and a clear setup process made the whole experience straightforward. Definitely a great purchase for anyone looking for a reliable, energy-saving outdoor lighting solution!
