I recently purchased the JJC Film Digitizing Adapter Kit to convert some of my old 120 and 35mm film negatives into digital files, and I’m very impressed with its performance. The kit includes an adjustable rod converter, a backlit panel, and a holder, all of which make the digitizing process smooth and efficient. The 11-level brightness settings on the backlit panel are a fantastic feature, allowing me to adjust the light intensity depending on the film’s condition, ensuring that even the most faded or delicate negatives are well-lit for scanning. The setup is straightforward, and the adapter is compatible with a variety of film sizes, which is perfect for my collection of old negatives. I especially appreciate the adjustable holder that securely holds the film in place, preventing it from moving around or getting damaged during the process. The quality of the digital images I’ve captured is excellent, with vibrant details and no noticeable loss in clarity from the original negatives. It's a much more efficient and affordable way to digitize films compared to scanning each photo individually or using a traditional film scanner.Overall, the JJC Film Digitizing Adapter Kit is an excellent investment for anyone looking to preserve their old film negatives in digital form. It's easy to use, produces high-quality digital images, and is versatile enough to handle a variety of film formats. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or someone with boxes of old negatives you want to preserve, this kit is an essential tool for converting your memories into digital files. Highly recommended!

I am a professional photographer and have been for 25+ years so I happen to have a lot of lenses which gives me an advantage over some potential users. I also have zero experience digitizing 120 35mm film, so some of my struggles are undoubtedly due to this fact. The build quality is what I've come to expect from JJC as I own several of their products and all of them are solid and built to last. The backlight really surprised me at its ability to so evenly light a negative frame. The main issue I have is trying to get the negative segment to lay completely flat. I fear there is a very slight amount of distortion if the negative bows out too much so I recommend spending the time here before you take the shot(s) to ensure its laying flat. The static build up seemed to actually help pull the negative in.TIP:Use a lint free cloth to gently wipe the negative clear of debris (and get it to lay down fully) just before you take the shot so you are not having to edit out tiny dust particles in post.I Recommend doing this in a room that has little to no ambient light as that light absolutely does affect your exposure to some degree. I set it up in our walk-in closet and it worked great. A bathroom could also work with the light off.I will update this review if anything changes within 1 year. A 5-star rating indicates the product meets my expectations for its purpose.

Positives- Well made, good quality materials. The rails are metal and feel very sturdy once all the nuts are tightened up. Adjustable in many directions.- The backlight panel provides a very even light sourceNegatives- I don't know which lens would be ideal for this setup, or if one even exists. But I tried 3 different cameras and 5 different lenses. None of these were the right one to be able to take a picture of my negative or slide only. For all of my shots, in order to be in focus, I now have to crop every single photo.- For taking pictures of a negative strip, once I have my picture, I now have to either buy a program to convert it from a negative to a positive, or use a photo editing program and figure out the appropriate adjustments required to make the negative a positive- Because I have to crop my photo to have just the original picture in frame, I lose a bit in resolution- The price! At the time of this review, this item is listed at $168.99! I have seen some name branded (well known photography equipment brands) devices in the $130 range that you can use to auto-feed your negatives, and the device will, with the push of a button, save a jpg of your picture as a positive. No adjustments required. No cropping. No additional work.- To me, the wording of the website's advertising was a bit misleading: “The film digitizer set is designed for negative copying and converts film to digital files.” The digitizer set does not convert film to digital files. You still have to have a camera, take a picture of the film (negative or slide), and edit the photo as needed. You need to create your own digital file. This device is a tool to help you achieve that, by holding onto your slide or negative.- The 2 included film holders are very static-y. As soon as I removed their protective film, some dust clung to the clear plastic. I tried to use my manual bulb style blower (the one I use for my lenses), but the dust did not budge. That's how static-y they were. So I then tried to use the brush that I use for my lenses. The film holders are so 'sensitive' that I scratched it even though I used a very light touch to brush off the dust. If this had been made with glass, I don't think it would be as sensitive to static nor damage.- All of my 35 mm negatives have a natural curve to them. I was unable to get the film holder to clamp onto the negative and flatten out the curve. If I install it backwards in their holder, I can get it to flatten a little bit, but not enough for my liking. As a result, my picture of the negative is not as true as I would like it to be.
