I buried these just above grass level. Smaller footprint was less effort to install. I will see how they work when we get a hard rain.The larger boxes have never been a problem.

Love that it is easy to install.Tested drainage with water hose and sure there will be no problems when the rain comes.Plastic and only 4 parts to put together. Solid accordion style drain pipe.(Picture shows a short shovel and overkill on digging since I was trying to find the old underground PVC pipe.)

The theory is great, but the product is not. I have purchased 2 of these, and both have the same problem. The black hose is brittle, and after a couple of weeks in the sun the hose breaks apart. I like the design and the installation is easy. If the manufacturer could improve the quality of the drain hose, it would be a great product.

I have a shallow window well that LOVES to fill up with water and every time is storms it's a nightmare. I installed this in the bottom of the window well with the pipe going out underneath (so I did dig and bury it). I did have to buy some extenders to get the water a little further away but it was so nice the last two storms not needing to go out and double check the window well all night long.

This was a PERFECT solution for being able to drain our kiddie pool duck pond. The hose connection that came with the pool was not good, but this lets is just open the pool drain so it empties into the downspout and runs into the French drain we installed. The drain cover also prevents the ducks from stepping in it.So it's an unconventional use for the product, but works EXACTLY as we'd hoped.

It is good if used correctly. This has very limited uses due to its length. The extension corrugated pipe is barely 5ft and you cannot buy any extensions to it. Most corrugated pipes are 3 or 4in in diameter. This is 2.5in almost.Even amazon sellers of similar item has extensions but they don't fit. Got one slightly bigger than 2" in diameter and it didn't fit as an extension being too loose still. I was able to use the LONGER but smaller diameter extension I got from another seller and forced it inside the rubber sleeve instead of the one it comes with it which slips on on the outside of the sleeve.The box is light cheap plastic and the grate just slips on top of the box loosely. It does is job of catching water and redirecting it down hill using gravity.
