The terminal blocks are not substantial enough for standard sized bell type wire. If you’re using this for fine stranded wire, it ‘may’ work. The solid wire would not clamp strong enough in the blocks for good and reliable connections. The wire pulls out too easily. The connections need to be more robust.

I bought this so my mom would be able to see the numbers easily. She loves it. The numbers are big and bright. Also easy for her to operate. The big buttons to increase or decrease the temperature are easy for her to see and push.

I like this thermostat because it doesn’t have programmed settings. It’s easy to use and can read it in the dark. Large up and down buttons. Also lets you know the humidity inside your house. I’ve had numerous different thermostats and this by far is my favorite. When your old simple is good!!!

This is a great simple 1 heat 1 cool thermostat. Non-programable. Easy to wire up and simple to use. Only complaint is it does not include batteries but if you have a hot common wire you don't need them. Definitely recommend.

This unit was to replace a Nest thermostat. We wanted to control the HVAC without programming.I like the Nest but my wife wants to change the temp herself and not have the unit change it for us. I know the Nest has a setting to allow user control, but for whatever reason after a day or two, the Nest would start turning it on or off on its own again. She found this unacceptable and i am disappointed in the inability to alter the Nest settings properly.Anyway, this is simple and without frills and has a large, backlit display. My only wish is that these units use the electricity provided by the HVAC system instead of needing batteries the way the Nest works.
