Our Maytag refrigerator is just under 5 years old and the OEM ice bucket got damaged to to ice expansion. We received this one a couple of months ago and it works perfectly. Tip-if you own this or similiar refridgerator take the gucket out once a week, leave it out until it gets to room temp. to provent ice dams from getting started which is what did in the one that came with the refridgerator. We dump the ice that's in the bin into a freezer bag and put it in the frezzer until the ice bucket is put back in so we always have ice.

Perfect replacement. Upon inspection it looks exactly like the one that came in the refrigerator. Easy to install. Works perfectly.UPDATE: It looked an operated like the original bin that came in the refrigerator. That one lasted 5 years. This one didn’t last three weeks. The bin looks like OEM but the materials are not the same. Augers bent like a cork screw.

I didn't know this was stong enough to bend the arms inside.***Update... They reached out to me to see about the bin. After expressing what happened to it, they were glad to replace it. I received a new one 2 days later.

The bottom of our original ice bucket actually broke, probably when some ice got stuck between the metal arm and the plastic bottom, and a quarter-sized piece broke out. That let small pieces of ice fall between the bucket and its compartment and froze together; no good came of it. When a second piece broke out of the bottom, we decided enough was enough.The new ice bucket fits perfectly, the metal swing arm works exactly as it's supposed to, and it's been so nice not to have to deal with little pieces of ice falling through.
