The yellow portion worked easily and simply for staple removal. Waaaaay easier than using a flathead or something to pry them up. Didn’t really find a need for the red handled one, the yellow worked for our needs. Feels kinda cheap but sturdy enough for casual and hobby use surely. Great value and easy to use.

I'm remodeling my kitchen and this has been a very handy tool. I've used it for:- removing staples in wall insulation (needed to reroute plumbing and electrical in walls)- remove the plastic bar code tags from the ends of purchased wood- remove staples from 1/8 wood underlayment under linoleum- removing packaging and padding from prehung doorsIn the past I would use a thin screw driver to pry up a staple and it worked OK most of the time, but sometimes one side of a staple would come out and then you had to wiggle out the other end. I don't seem to have that issue with these tools. Recommend for the price.

Review for GEARLINTON Upholstery Staple Remover, Construction Staple Remover Tool, Heavy Duty Tack Lifter.I wind up doing upholstery jobs periodically, as well as recovering wood valances. Staple removers and tack lifters are a must.It is nice to find both in a set. The set looks nice, and it tests out well. My main concern is for the tack lifter's handle, which is ABS. ABS is generally considered to be a strong type of plastic, but my other tack lifters feel heavier duty.However, I periodically wind up having some really old wood with staples, nails, and tacks that I have to remove. It is those jobs that test my tool's strength. Thus, when another of those jobs come in, I will update this review if this set of tools isn't up to the job. Those old, hardwood types of jobs require heavy duty tools and a lot of hand and wrist strength.I am giving this 5 stars for the set, and I will update if the set doesn't perform well over the long term.

I put up a netting around my patio and I need to remove the bottom half of it so that I could fix something on the railing. The little stapler mover gets right underneath the staples and pops it out really easily. I didn't use the tack remover, but it's a nice bonus.
