Yes, it does require adhesive, and that adhesive will hold the tire on the wheel for about 10 seconds. Completely worthless design without the center groove.

The product description says "No Adhesive Required". My Minimax 16 has the groove in the wheel to hold a band in place. My previous tires had the bead to hold the tire in this groove.My package came marked "Adhesive Required" and gave instructions how to glue it on. There is no bead on the tire that would hold the tire in place. The tire was the correct size, but it wasn't what the product description said it was.I would not have bought this product if I knew this. I have adhesive on order now. What a pain.
