Appreciated the color, thickness, and very distinct grid lines/markings. It comes rolled up, however I laid it out on the table overnight with a few books on it.....it was perfectly flat the next morning. Very pleased with this purchase.

Needed a large self healing mat and difficult to locate... found it!I'm really pleased, Pink on 1 side Blue on the other. Very smooth finish.Delivered during a cold snap, had to lay it out flat and let the room temp let it ease and flattened in a couple of days. Totally worth it when you have large fabric pieces to cut!!Also, the review by "Creative Spirit" of this Product from Singapore is absolutely Spot On! But it doesn't have the "HELPFUL" box to click. Read that one and it hits all points accurately

My new cutting mat arrived yesterday and it seems to be fabulous (have not used it yet as it is currently on the floor with misc heavy items on it flattening out). While I’m sure it will be awesome for cutting fabric on, I am a bit peeved that the size is not as advertised. While the dimensions of 40” x 60” are printed on the mat, the actual dimensions are 39” x 59”. While I understand that it is only one inch smaller in both width and length, don’t tell me it’s a 40’ x 60’ mat when it really isn’t, especially when I am paying almost three times as much for it to get it to Canada (listed for $199 USD on the US Art Supply website).

I was worried when most of the posts said they couldn't get theirs to lay flat, but ordered it anyway. I flipped mine over and put some heavy comic omnibuses over the edges and worked on the quilt. Probably about 20lbs stack each of books on the edges. Later that day, it was completely flat and has stayed that way.I can't tell you how easy it is to cut and trim quilts and fabric with this mat. No regrets on this purchase. Get the heaviest books you can get and put them on the edges of the mat.

I was very nervous about buying this cutting mat due to the requirement of rolling it up for shipping. But, I am very happy to say the mat is nice and flat, even on the edges. The trick is to not expect to use it immediately, or even in a week. You need to find a hard flat surface that you will not be needing access to for awhile, lay it out and get some large boxes with heavy items in them and place at each end of the mat. And, if you have additional smaller boxes, it helps to add them to the middle along the edges. I know, this sounds ridiculous. But if you think about it, the mat has been rolled up in the box for Lord only knows how long, right? So, you can't expect it to lay flat quickly. It takes just as much time to flatten itself out, that it did to roll itself up (it has memory). My mat was rolled up so tight that I needed 4 people to help me unroll it and keep it relatively flat to put the boxes on it. It kept wanting to roll back up! But, after 4 weeks, yes I said 4 weeks, it is completely flat. It might have taken less time, but I just left it there and didn't check it for 4 weeks. So, my very long point is this... give it time, be patient, it will lay flat. And when it does, you will LOVE having it. It is very cool to have to work with.

Arrives rolled, which makes sense for shipping, and will take a couple days to lay flat. Good product but disappointed that nothing measures 40x60. Outer edge is 59x39.25 and measuring lines go to 58x38. This is still a great size, just disappointing when you are expecting 49x60. If they had called it a 58x38 mat, I still would have bought it but I would have been thrilled when it arrived. Expectations…

The mat arrived curled up but that didn't bother me as I live in Arizona; I just set it out in the sun which cured that problem. I purchased the mat in September 2023 and now in November the mat has started to warp. It's so uneven now that it's interfering when cutting with my rotary cutter. Of course the window to return closed October 7th so now I'm out of any options. NOT happy with this mat at all.

For the following reasons I give this mat 5 stars and say go for it. I had done a lot of research on cutting mats before purchasing. I read many product reviews on amazon and otherwise, reviewed different brands and even looked into getting a custom made mat. I am hoping my review helps you out as I found some conflicting information when I was doing my research and I ordered this mat on a bit on a wing and a prayer hoping it would work out. It did work out! Therefore, I am comfortable giving you this positive review with specific details based on my experience. First of all, the cutting mat is for sure pink on one side and blue on the other, just as described. One of the reviews I had read said there was no pink, but the product I received had both colours. Yay, because I really wanted to use the pink side. The mat is a one piece mat. Both pink and blue sides have same grid lines in inches and cms. The mat is advertised as a 40” x 60” mat. The actual physical measurement that I took myself is 39.2” x 58.75” with marked grid marks from 0”- 58” and 0”- 38”. I did not mind the slightly different measurement than the advertised 40” x 60” as this mat suits my needs. It is definitely extra large based on what is out there currently on the market without going custom made. On arrival, the mat did not have any scent, chemical or otherwise coming out of the box. The box that is was delivered in was super huge and the mat was very very very lightly rolled. It laid flat almost immediately. If you look at the picture that I attached to this review this is just minutes out of the box and it is almost laying flat right away. Now it is laying completely flat with no fuss or muss. I did not need to use weights or soup cans to get it to lay flat, it laid flat on its own. It was also sealed in plastic so came in perfect condition, no scuffs or marks. Amazon shipped the mat using UPS and it only took a few days for me to receive (US - Singapore). There were no additional fees on arrival, what I paid at amazon checkout is what it costed as I expected. The mat is nice and thick, the 5 cm layers as advertised, therefore a little on the heavier side but not unmanageable. I could lift the box when it arrived. The reason I bought the mat was because I was replacing the typical green OLFA cutting 24”x36” cutting mat that you often see at sewing and/or craft stores and I had worn that mat out and also wanted a larger mat to fit my entire table. Now having this new mat here the OLFA mat seems really lightweight and quite flimsy in comparison (however I did love my OLFA mat and it served me very well over the years of cutting fabric with rotary cutter). I used my rotary cutter on this new mat to cut fabric with no problem and it is in fact self healing with no issues. Can’t see any cutting marks. Perfect. I think this cutting mat will serve me quite well for years to come! Pros: Size is large enough to fit my table. The pink/blue is more pleasant than my old green one. Glue peels right off. Cuts self heal. Weight is heavy.Cons: Not sure it will ever lay flat. Came rolled up and it was HARD work to get it to lay flat enough to weight it down with boxes so it could flatten out. Had full shipping crates on it for a week and it was flat enough to put on my work table but still had bumpy waves. Another week of weighing it down on the waves and it still doesn't lay flat. I have to keep weights on it in the areas I work - hoping it will eventually lay flat.
