Very satisfied with hat does appear to be the same as issued during my deployment. Would recommend provides good protection from the sun.

This is a quality boonie hat in the Desert Storm era chocolate chip pattern. That pattern with boonie hats has been hard to find for a while. The item shipped the day after I ordered, and only took a couple of days to get to me. It was packed securely and came with all the tags. The hat has the proper vent holes and neck strap. The brim is 2.5 inches wide. Material is 50% nylon 50% cotton. I had ordered a 7 3/4 size but it was too big. The return and reimbursement went smoothly. You won't go wrong with ClaysMilitary.com, and I will be ordering from them again.

What's to like about this boonie? Everything.I ordered a size up for a more relaxed fit but the quality and pattern is genuine.All in all if you're a sucker for the six color desert pattern this is your go to summer hat.

(Small backstory) Decorated Combat Veteran of Operation Desert Storm, over 30 years ago I was issued one of these before I deployed to the Middle East. We were NEVER allowed to actually ware them in theater or at anytime I was deployed (go figure huh?) The hats are lightweight, and VERY SERVICEABLE when it comes to keeping the sun off your noggin, I tie a knot in it and ware the chinstrap on the back of my bhead and even in strong winds it stays on. People actually see the hat and know it's me because it's such a unique hat.(Actually been pulled over because a cop saw the hat and knew it was me lol) It's Durable, well made and it's actually the same issued hat as was issued by the army for Desert Storm. As long as you don't set them on fire or let your dog get ahold of them (guilty on both counts lol) they will last FOREVER
