Product Description

U.S. Solid 1/8" 12V DC Normally Closed Pneumatic Solenoid Valve

1

The U.S. Solid pneumatic solenoid valve features a Aluminum Alloy body for general outdoor and indoor use. It is only favored by filtered air.

Direction of the Flow

Most U.S. Solid Valves are UNIDIRECTIONAL

Make a note of the arrow on your valve. Most U.S. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. If connected in opposite directions, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly.

I've used this brand extensively and had good luck with their solenoids. This one is no different. I think I had to return a single one that arrived broken out of a larger order a few years back because it didn't work, but I've had them work successfully over a long period of time in woodshop environments and other dusty, contaminated locations. I do supply dry, filtered air.

It seems to work well, just not enough air flow for train horns. I may use it for something else. Perhaps a drain for my air tank?
